Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough has seemingly come out of nowhere to become a potential name to watch in the 2025 NFL Draft. Learn more about Shough’s life growing up in Arizona and his siblings, who supported him in his journey to becoming an NFL quarterback.
Meet Tyler Shough’s Siblings: Beth, Cori, and Brady
Shough comes from a tight-knit family growing up in Chandler, Ariz. He was born to police officer Glenn Shough and teacher Dana Shough on Sept. 28, 1999. Glenn and Dana met when they were both students studying at Arizona State University, where they both were student athletes.
When Tyler was six, his mother, Dana, was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. Doctors forecasted she had six months to a year left to live, but she managed to beat the condition and witnessed Tyler’s growth into a potential NFL quarterback.
His father, Glenn, retired from the police force and is teaching criminal justice and driver’s education, while his mother, Dana, is retired.
Tyler has three siblings: Beth and Cori are his older half-sisters, and he has a younger brother, Brady. His younger brother, Brady, played safety at Northern Arizona University.
Shough’s College Career Overview and Draft Projection
Tyler Shough started playing high school football at Hamilton High School in his hometown of Chandler. He was one of the state’s top-ranked prospects and was a consensus four-star recruit by most major sports outlets.
Shough has spent seven years in college, first signing with the Oregon Ducks fresh out of high school. He started seven games for them in the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season before entering the transfer portal and heading to Texas Tech.
He started 13 games for the Red Raiders, but his career was plagued by injuries, and he had to sit out significant parts of the season.
It was at his final stop in Louisville where he really shone. In his lone season there, Shough threw for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns and became the school’s second all-time leader in passing yards per game and touchdowns per game.
He is now predicted to be one of the top quarterbacks selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. PFSN’s final mock draft before the NFL Draft had Shough going 65th overall to the New York Giants, though they eventually filled that need in the first round with Jaxson Dart.
“Tyler Shough would give the Giants a young quarterback to insert into their quarterback room and a player who can compete with the veterans currently on the roster,” said PFSN’s Brentley Weissman.
