Tyler Higbee Injury Update

Lions safety Kerby Joseph hit Higbee’s right knee after the Rams tight end tried to haul in a pass from Stafford. Higbee appeared to be in a significant amount of pain after the play.

He walked off the field and entered the blue medical tent for further evaluation.

After the Rams’ loss, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Higbee is believed to have torn his ACL. Given how late in the campaign Higbee went down, the 30-year-old may not be ready for the beginning of the 2024 season.

Higbee did not play in Week 18 and was limited during last week’s practices. He was questionable entering Sunday’s game but was able to suit up.

Higbee, 30, posted 47 catches on 70 targets for 495 yards and two touchdowns during the regular season. He’d been targeted once on Sunday but did not record a catch.

A 2016 fourth-round pick, Higbee inked a four-year, $31 million extension in Sept. 2019 before breaking out with 69 catches for 734 yards and three touchdowns. He signed another new deal — a two-year, $17 million pact — with L.A. in Sept. 2023.
