Bengals Star Tee Higgins’ Mother Takes Dig at Trey Hendrickson’s $112M Move to Ravens in Free Agency

Tee Higgins’ mother reacts on X after Trey Hendrickson signs a $112M deal with the Ravens following Baltimore’s failed Maxx Crosby trade.

It’s long been known that former Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson would leave in free agency this offseason. The sequence of events that ultimately sent him to the rival Baltimore Ravens was unexpected by everyone in the league. Baltimore only pivoted to Hendrickson after a blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby fell apart following a failed physical.

In the aftermath, one person close to a Bengals star shared her opinion about the move on social media.

Tee Higgins’ Mother Responds to Trey Hendrickson’s Ravens Move

After news of Hendrickson’s signing began circulating on X, one user reposted the breaking news and suggested that a sequence like this almost felt impossible to script. That is when the mother of Bengals star wide receiver Tee Higgins joined the conversation.

Posting from her account, she defended Cincinnati and appeared to take a subtle jab at Hendrickson’s decision to leave the Bengals and sign with a division rival.

“We good the grass isn’t always greener on the other side WHO DEY,” she wrote.

Higgins’ mother is a well-known presence among Bengals fans on X. She joined the platform in March 2015 and has built a following of more than 32,000 users. Her page frequently features posts supporting her son along with Bengals-related commentary and humorous videos.

Her response quickly circulated among Cincinnati fans as the fallout from Hendrickson’s move continued to unfold.

Ravens Pivot to Hendrickson After Maxx Crosby Trade Collapses

Just hours ago, Baltimore’s path to signing Hendrickson took a dramatic turn. The Ravens initially agreed to a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire Crosby. The deal would have sent two first-round picks to Las Vegas, including the No. 14 selection in the upcoming draft.

However, the trade was rescinded Tuesday night after Crosby failed his physical with Baltimore. All NFL trades must be finalized with a successful physical before becoming official. Crosby is recovering from surgery to repair a torn meniscus that ended his 2025 season. His agent later said the five-time Pro Bowler remains ahead of schedule in his recovery.

With the trade voided, Baltimore moved quickly the following morning.

The Ravens signed Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million deal, landing one of the league’s most productive pass rushers. Hendrickson ranked 12th in PFSN’s NFL EDGE Impact Metric. However, Crosby ranked second in the same metric and is considered a more complete top-tier edge rusher than Hendrickson.

Baltimore badly needed help along the defensive front after finishing the 2025 season with just 30 sacks. Only two teams produced fewer. Hendrickson now steps into a young Ravens edge group that lacked proven production. The nine-year veteran has recorded 81 career sacks and produced double-digit sack totals in four of his last six seasons.

His move across the AFC North adds another storyline to one of the league’s most intense rivalries as Cincinnati and Baltimore prepare for another season of division battles.
