‘Eliminated From the Playoffs’ — NFL World Reacts to Trevor Lawrence’s New Haircut in Jaguars’ Schedule Release Video

The NFL world on social media was surprised after seeing Trevor Lawrence's new look in the Jaguars' schedule release video.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team reborn after a successful first season under Head Coach Liam Coen, who led them to the postseason with a 13-4 record. With teams around the league releasing their schedule videos, it appears the Jaguars’ franchise quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, has shed his golden locks for a startling new look to head into this season.

It might take an adjustment period for those who used to watch him ball out at Clemson and through his NFL career with his signature long hair. It appears he has gone for a bold new look for the new season.

Needless to say, the NFL world reacted on social media to his haircut, less than generously. Here’s a snippet of the reactions below.

NFL World Reacts To Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s Bold New Look

It’s safe to say it’s a bold new look for Lawrence, in time for schedule day, a video of his haircut was released. Believe it or not, the new hair isn’t AI-generated or a wig. It’s an unpopular choice, but a choice nonetheless.

Will Compton wasted no time in declaring the Jaguars’ future before the season began: “The Jaguars have been eliminated from the playoffs.” Haircut aside, it is a brutal schedule for the Jaguars.

Humorously, Fanatics Sportsbook tweeted, “Ok now put it back,” implying Lawrence is wearing a wig. FSU Brando’s account also followed a similar route, that he must be wearing a wig. “Don’t play with us, throw this wig away immediately.”

Garret Greenlee of Football Analysis was also far from impressed with the cut or the Jaguars’ offseason. “This makes the Jags’ offseason even worse.”

General Manager James Gladstone certainly made the risky decision to move on from star running back Travis Etienne Jr. and linebacker Devin Lloyd in free agency, both key pieces of last year’s team. Perhaps this was in reference to that in his post, as well as to Lawrence’s haircut.

Among the standouts in their schedule release, the Jags open against the Cleveland Browns. In Week 2, they face a huge test against the Denver Broncos, and the week after, they face the New England Patriots, who were defeated in the Super Bowl. Then they have a tough matchup with superstar Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in week 4.

In reference to their game against the Bengals, the fan account SleeperBengals shared a graphic featuring bleached Joe Burrow and Lawrence’s new do. “This could be one of the greatest haircut matchups of all time.”

The Jags’ customary visits to their second home in the United Kingdom are in weeks 5 and 6, against the mighty postseason contenders, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans, respectively.

The schedule also includes tough games against the Chicago Bears, New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and Pittsburgh Steelers, among others. They finish the season against the Indianapolis Colts, completing a difficult schedule for Lawrence’s team.
