Trevor Lawrence stepped away from football preparations to embrace his newest role: being a dad. The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback recently shared a precious moment with his infant daughter, Shae, capturing the softer side of an NFL season filled with recovery and renewed hope.
How Is Trevor Lawrence Balancing Family Life and Football Recovery?
Lawrence enters his fifth season behind center for the Jaguars, sporting a 22-38 career record as a starter. The 2024 campaign didn’t go well for him or Jacksonville, as he suffered a concussion from a hit by the Houston Texans’ Azeez Al-Shaair and was later placed on injured reserve due to a prior shoulder ailment.
During this offseason recovery period, Lawrence has also started his own family. His wife recently shared a photo on Instagram of him enjoying time with their young daughter.
“Wish I could freeze time!” Marissa Lawrence wrote with a picture of Lawrence holding Shae beside a beach.

Lawrence and his wife welcomed Shae in January. The couple first met while attending high school in Georgia in 2016, got engaged in 2020, and married in April 2021.
What Are Lawrence’s Health Concerns Heading Into 2025?
The No. 1 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Lawrence underwent shoulder surgery in December. He said shortly after the 2024 season that he expected to be fully healthy by the time this approaching campaign gets underway. However, he’s been banged up in each of the past two seasons, missing eight of the team’s last 19 outings.
Lawrence left four games in 2023 with three different injuries, including a concussion, a shoulder sprain, and a high-ankle sprain.
“Really the last two seasons, that has been a struggle for me,” Lawrence told his team’s website. “Last year, I only missed one game because of it, but still I was dealing with a lot of injuries. That’s something in my career until last year I didn’t deal with really much. … I feel like I’ve gotten better every year, but the big piece of it is being healthy.
“Being the franchise quarterback, I have to be out there. I have to be on the field and have to be available. That’s difficult for me to not be able to do that.”
In 10 starts during the 2024 season, Lawrence went 2-8 and threw for 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The Jaguars got him some receiving help by selecting reigning Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter in this year’s NFL Draft.
