Dallas Cowboys and Trevon Diggs Struggling

From the beginning, the Cowboys’ defense has appeared unsteady, carrying over their problems from the previous season. The squad gave up too many huge plays against the Bears as they struggled to get pressure and control mobility quarterbacks.

While players like Kenny Clark and Osa Odighizuwa have shown flashes of brilliance, the defense still struggles against the run, a vulnerability that has yet to improve. Miscommunications, a struggling defensive line, and a shaky secondary have all contributed to a unit needing improvement.

Trading Micah Parsons in the offseason seems to have left a huge gap in Dallas’ defense. The Cowboys allowed 37 points in an overtime win against the Giants, and now trail 31-14 to the Bears. Parsons’ absence is being felt, but Diggs’ inconsistent play has drawn even more criticism.

Returning from a serious knee injury, Diggs has struggled to regain his pre-injury form, and Sunday’s game only amplified the frustration. A critical coverage lapse allowed Rome Odunze to score on a 35-yard touchdown after Diggs slipped on the turf.

Fans on social media didn’t hold back.

Social Media Reacts to Latest on Diggs’ Struggles

One of the fans went out and called him ‘washed.’ He wrote, “Trevon Diggs so washed this team is a joke.”

Another brought up the Parsons trade. “Pathetic performance, should have packaged Diggs with #11 for a bag of footballs. So shocked, what the heck is going on with the D?”

Others suggested more drastic measures, with one fan writing, “Let’s fire the DC and trade Diggs.”

Another added, “Turpin showed heart. Diggs is looking for a way to IL, collect and not work.”

The criticism continued, with a fan claiming, “Diggs needs to go ” and insisting, “He’s not playing out there. Just collecting paychecks.”

The criticism highlights Dallas’ broader defense problems. Despite the early stage of the season, Diggs is intensely criticized for defensive shortcomings and inconsistent play.

Dallas’s struggles continue. While Diggs received most of the criticism, the truth is that the Cowboys’ defense hasn’t been the same since Parsons was traded. There are a lot of questions to answer in the upcoming week.
