Meet TreVeyon Henderson’s Parents, LaKeesha Hayes-Winfield and Trenton Henderson

Henderson was born to LaKeesha Hayes-Winfield and Trenton Henderson on Oct. 22, 2002. Little is known about Henderson’s father. However, his mom raised him and his two brothers in Hopewell, Va.

Unfortunately, the family didn’t have a lot of money during Henderson’s childhood. Hayes-Winfield worked two jobs to help support her boys as they grew up. Furthermore, violent crime was rampant in the neighborhood.

Sports became an outlet for the children. As violent crime continued around the family, Hayes-Winfield wanted her boys to stay out of the streets. Keeping them busy was something that became something of a priority.

“I had three boys, so I just had to think,” she told Eleven Warriors, an independent outlet covering Ohio State athletics, in February 2021. “I just didn’t want them to be running the streets. So I had to keep them busy, not knowing that it would pay off one day.”

Henderson has gone on record discussing the impact his mother had on him. The 2025 NFL Draft prospect wants to support his mother as much as he can. More importantly, he wants to get her out of Virginia as soon as he can.

“That’s my No. 1 motivation is my mom — to get her out of Virginia so that she can live a great life and won’t have to stress anymore,” he told Eleven Warriors.

Playing for Ohio State has helped Henderson achieve this goal. He revealed that a lot of his NIL money goes to his mother. Making sure she has what she needs is extremely important to the Buckeyes’ star.

“I watched my mom have to struggle growing up and have trouble trying to take care of us and provide for us. But she always worked so hard, and she always did whatever she had to do to make sure we were straight. And now, with NIL coming in, I can take care of her. Forever. Hopefully forever.

“But yeah, this is just the start now. She’s straight now. She doesn’t have to worry about anything,” Henderson told Bucknuts in March 2022.
