WATCH: Travis Kelce Reveals His Favorite Taylor Swift Song and His Answer Makes Perfect Sense

No current relationship in the sports world is as famous as the one between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Since announcing they were together in July 2023, the biggest pop star in the world has become part of NFL culture, bringing a lot of attention and numbers to the sport.

During the annual Tight End University event, which Kelce is attending as a co-founder, players were asked to name their favorite Swift song. Kelce gave the only answer that truly made sense once you understand the context behind his choice.

What Is Travis Kelce’s Favorite Taylor Swift Song?

Kelce and Swift have stolen the NFL spotlight ever since they went public with their relationship. Swift’s presence at Kelce’s games quickly became a regular part of Chiefs broadcasts, with cameras often cutting to her cheering from a suite. Swift, in many ways, became a good luck charm for Kansas City.

Known for writing songs inspired by her relationships, Swift has referenced Kelce multiple times during her shows, including altering lyrics in songs like “Karma.” But one track in particular captures their relationship more than any other. When asked to name his favorite song by the pop star, Kelce chose the exact one: “So High School.”

The song is filled with nods to their relationship, from how it began to lines like “You know how to ball, I know Aristotle.” Swift has even done Kelce’s signature archer celebration onstage, making it clear the track was written for the Chiefs’ tight end.

Their story began when Kelce mentioned on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason Kelce that he attended one of Swift’s concerts and made a friendship bracelet, which is a tradition among “Swifties,” a nickname for her fans.

But Kelce never got the chance to give it to her. His plan was to include his phone number with the bracelet, potentially planting the seed for their connection.

Not long after, the two were seen together in public and eventually confirmed they were dating. On Sept. 24, 2023, Swift attended her first game at Arrowhead Stadium, an appearance that became a regular occurrence whenever her tour schedule allowed.

But beyond his high-profile relationship, Kelce is currently preparing for his 13th NFL season, coming off a Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the team Swift ironically supports.

After reportedly considering retirement last year, this could be the final season for Travis Kelce, who has begun to show signs of decline with a noticeable dip in production.

Kelce finished the season with just 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns, his lowest totals since 2015. As his career nears its end, one final Super Bowl run would be the perfect way to cap off his legacy. He could potentially add a fourth championship alongside Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid to his already Hall of Fame-caliber résumé.
