Should I Draft Tony Pollard? Fantasy Outlook for the Titans’ RB in 2024

The Tennessee Titans brought in RB Tony Pollard to be a key piece in helping second-year QB Will Levis, making him a candidate to surpass his ADP.

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard’s fantasy football outlook in 2024 comes as he changes teams, going from Dallas to Tennessee and signing a three-year, $21.75 million deal to assist young signal-caller Will Levis.

Using Pollard’s name, there are some excellent fantasy team names that you can create, like “The Pollard Express.” Below, however, I’ll examine Pollard’s fantasy outlook this season and discuss whether he’s a good pick in your leagues.

Tony Pollard’s Fantasy Profile for the 2024 NFL Season

With the Zero RB fantasy football strategy, you’ll find yourself waiting a bit longer in drafts to draft the position, but Pollard doesn’t quite qualify. He’s going as the RB26 and No. 79 overall, so he’s a borderline RB2 per his ADP.

According to TruMedia, Pollard wasn’t the most efficient runner with the Dallas Cowboys in 2023. He had 252 carries for 1,005 yards and six touchdowns. On first down, he had 141 carries for 551 yards (3.9 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. That inefficiency continued on second down, rushing 88 times for 337 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and two scores.

On third down, Pollard received 20 carries for 101 yards and a score. Where he’ll aim to help Levis most, though, is as an easy outlet in the passing game.

Pollard caught 55 passes for 311 yards last year. He was rather unlucky, not catching a single touchdown despite the 55 receptions. He was excellent as a third-down pass catcher, though, going for 10.5 yards per reception.

As a rookie, 51.3% of Levis’ pass attempts were either behind the line of scrimmage or 0-9 yards downfield, which should bode well for Pollard. In 2023, he finished as the RB14, and remember, this came without catching a single touchdown despite 55 receptions.

Tennessee’s offense is looking to take a step forward with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, and Tyler Boyd, so Pollard will look to replicate his 2023 success.

Is Pollard a Good Fantasy Pick?

I love Pollard in the spot he’s going. If you find yourself behind on running backs and can grab him even as your RB2, I believe he’ll surpass his ADP.

Pollard will get plenty of carries, and he’ll be a great option for Levis as he progresses in 2024. He’s a pass-catching threat, which will only help his fantasy value in PPR leagues.

Pollard is going after questionable backs like Zamir White, Raheem Mostert, and Najee Harris. The Titans’ RB could be a top sleeper in your league this year due to the perception of Tennessee’s offense, which should be better compared to 2023.
