This Sunday, May 11, Mother’s Day was celebrated across the U.S., and many NFL players took to social media to honor their mothers and wives. Among them was seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, now a FOX analyst and minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
In an Instagram Story, the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback paid tribute not only to his own mother but also to the two mothers of his children.
Tom Brady Shares Mother’s Day Message on His Instagram Account
The personal life of the greatest player in NFL history has always been under the spotlight. Despite being a late-round draft pick, Brady’s rapid rise to stardom put him in the public eye early, and soon his relationships drew just as much media attention as his on-field achievements.
Even so, Brady has consistently handled his personal life with professionalism, avoiding controversy whenever possible. Instead of engaging in negative or inflammatory comments, he’s often chosen to express himself through love and gratitude—a reflection of the grounded image he’s maintained throughout his career.
On his Instagram account, Brady shared a heartfelt message dedicated to his mother and the mothers of his three children, writing:
“Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms I’m so lucky to have in my life.”
Brady is the son of Galynn Patricia and was raised in San Mateo, California. His parents still live in the same home where they raised him, and his mother has always been a source of inspiration throughout his life.
In 2017, she famously won a battle with cancer just in time to attend what is arguably the greatest game of her son’s career—the historic comeback win against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI.

Throughout his life, the quarterback has been in two relationships that resulted in three children, and he has consistently remained a present and committed father to each of them.
His first son, John “Jack” Edward Brady, was born from his relationship with actress and model Bridget Moynahan, which lasted from 2004 to 2006. Although their time together as a couple was brief, Brady and Moynahan have maintained a healthy co-parenting relationship over the years, prioritizing their son’s well-being and keeping a respectful bond as parents.

His relationship with supermodel Gisele Bündchen was one of the most high-profile in the world. The couple began dating in 2007 and married in 2009, sharing a relationship often seen as a model of support and partnership. Bündchen frequently attended his biggest games and was publicly supportive of his career.
The marriage resulted in two children: Benjamin Rein and Vivian Lake. After 13 years together, Brady and Bündchen announced their divorce in late 2022, reportedly triggered by Brady’s decision to return from retirement—a move that was widely seen as the tipping point for the split.
Even so, the separation was considered amicable, with both prioritizing a healthy co-parenting relationship for their children—something they’ve followed through on. Brady has continued to express respect and affection for his ex-wife, who recently welcomed another child with her partner, Joaquim Valente.
Despite two highly public relationships that didn’t last, Brady has remained composed and respectful toward both of his ex-partners. His Mother’s Day tribute reflects that—a sincere gesture of appreciation that underscores his maturity as a father and his commitment to keeping personal matters dignified and drama-free.
