Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady led one of the most dominant dynasties in New England alongside tight end Rob Gronkowski before the pair retired.
The duo played together for nine seasons for the New England Patriots and two seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, setting several postseason records.
Tom Brady Lavishes Praise on Rob Gronkowski’s Patriots Impact
During Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Brady lavished praise on Gronk’s impact on the Patriots’ dynasty.
While Brady spoke about how the Patriots got the most out of Gronkowski and kept him in line, the seven-time Super Bowl champion also said: “At that point, there was a big expectation of our team when he got there. We had a good 10-year run and I think we needed a refresh of energy and Gronk brought it. He was free, fun-loving. He’s one of the most authentic people you’ll ever be around. Football is hard, but Gronk always found a way to bring light to it. Gronk was really unique.
“I think Gronk was the greatest blocking tight end in history. Gronk could handle defensive ends. He was at the point of attack in the run game. We didn’t care, like we’d rather go to Gronk than the open-side tackle. That’s a really underrated part of his game. And then as a pass catcher, he was never going to be the twitchiest, but his straight line, when he would run seam routes, middle reads, or flat routes, he was off the charts.”

Gronkowski, who had retired the previous year, came out of retirement and was traded by the Patriots to the Buccaneers along with a seventh-round pick for a compensatory fourth-round pick, reuniting with his former quarterback.
The duo reignited their Patriots magic in Tampa, helping the Bucs to win Super Bowl LV 31-9 over the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the game against the Chiefs, Gronk was dominant, catching two of three touchdown passes thrown by the iconic Brady and becoming the first player in NFL history to catch a pass in five different Super Bowls.
In addition, Brady and Gronk broke the record for most postseason touchdowns (14) by a quarterback and receiver, breaking a long-standing record previously held by Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.
The duo is still considered the gold standard for a quarterback and tight end in the league due to their instinctive chemistry on the field that led to four Super Bowl titles.
