Tom Brady Reveals Wild New Detail That Makes 28-3 Super Bowl Comeback vs. Falcons Even More Impressive

Tom Brady potentially hints at interesting wrinkle that makes the greatest comeback in NFL history, the 28-3 game, seem even more impressive.

In a career as legendary as the one Tom Brady had, there are seemingly infinite moments to define his greatness. Whether it is the three MVPs, seven Super Bowl victories, or the all-around domination of the record books, there is virtually nothing that the New England Patriots legend hasn’t done.

However, one of the crowning achievements of his career was Super Bowl LI. While it was his fifth victory in the Big Game, the nature of the win makes it one of the most improbable and historic games in NFL history. It is, of course, the 28-3 game. But, in a recent interview, Brady hinted at a crucial detail that may make the performance even more legendary, if that is even possible.

Tom Brady Reveals Secret About 28-3

Virtually every football fan under the sun knows the story. Two years after winning his fourth Super Bowl ring, Brady had a chance to take sole possession of the most Super Bowl victories for a starting quarterback.

Up against him were the league’s best offense, the Atlanta Falcons. And for the first two and a half quarters, it was an ugly story. The Falcons were up 28-3 midway through the third, and the game felt like a wrap.

However, from there on, something snapped and New England put up 25-straight points to give the NFL its first ever overtime in Super Bowl history. The Patriots won the coin toss, took possession of the ball, and Brady marched them down for a touchdown.

34-28. Victory. And a Super Bowl MVP. However, arguably the greatest comeback victory in NFL history might have had another shocking wrinkle to it. During an appearance on the IMPAULSIVE podcast, Brady had some interesting details to share about the game.

“I was exhausted. I took a pretty big shot on our last drive, I got hit in the head pretty good. I was on autopilot from the last drive in the fourth quarter and in overtime. There were two drives, and they’re really foggy.”

For eagle-eyed viewers and listeners, what the eventual seven-time Super Bowl Champion describes sounds a lot like a concussion. The official X page of the podcast even framed the question, “Was Tom Brady CONCUSSED during legendary 28-3 Super Bowl comeback?”

But, for Brady, he describes it as being in the moment. “I remember after that game, I was just exhausted and probably didn’t understand what exactly happened. Cause look, you’re in the moment.

“You’re not seeing it from the fans’ perspective. You’re seeing it from your perspective. And then it takes you a little while to decompress in a game. And when you watch it, you’re like, ‘Holy S***'”

If there was ever a way for the legend of Tom Brady to grow even further, he played arguably the greatest game of his career, concussed. And still registered a 25-point comeback victory in the clutch.
