The Tennessee Titans had a disastrous 2024 NFL season but their 3-14 record comes with a silver lining: the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This year’s draft is particularly stacked at the top, giving the Titans four options with the potential to be franchise cornerstones.
With the NFL Draft set to take place in less than a month, rumors are constantly flying around regarding who the Titans will select with the coveted first-overall draft choice.
A recent report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport stated that Titans President of Operations Chad Brinker and head coach Brian Callahan would be skipping Colorado’s Pro Day. This has led some fans to believe that top prospects such as Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders could be out of the running as potential first-overall selections.
However, this may not be the case.

Why Are the Titans Skipping Colorado’s Pro Day?
The Titans skipping Colorado’s Pro Day is shocking to some, but there is much more to the story. Coach Callahan’s Titans have seen Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes many times throughout the year and have kept a close eye on Hunter, the Heisman-winning WR/CB, as well as Sanders, their star quarterback.

Instead of attending Colorado’s Pro Day, the Titans president and coach will join a large group of staff at a private workout for Hunter and Sanders on April 9, a few weeks before the draft.
Does this mean that both players are indeed still being considered for the first pick by the Titans? Callahan says yes as he and his staff narrow down their list.
Callahan Says Titans Considering Four Prospects With No. 1 Pick.
At the Annual League Meeting, Callahan spoke with NFL insider Tom Pelissero about who the Titans were considering at No. 1 and shared some interesting information.
“I think it’s a short list at No. 1 for sure, it’s all the guys that I think are worthy of it, the ones that everyone talks about out there, and between Travis (Hunter) and Shedeur (Sanders) and Cam (Ward) and Abdul Carter, I think those are, that’s the top of the draft for me, those are the most elite players in the draft,” Callahan told Pelissero.
Callahan confirmed that both Hunter and Sanders are still under consideration, despite the team’s decision not to attend Colorado’s Pro Day. However, star quarterback and Heisman finalist Cam Ward, along with Abdul Carter, the game-wrecking edge rusher, are widely regarded as the favorites to be selected first overall ahead of the two Colorado standouts.
Ward, the Miami QB, is currently projected to be selected first overall, according to PFSN’s latest mock draft.
So the Titans’ absence at Colorado’s Pro Day raises an intriguing question: Is their shortlist really down to four, or has it quietly narrowed to just two? If the Titans are already looking beyond Hunter and Sanders, could Ward’s name already be written in at No. 1?
