With Week 2 of the NFL Preseason upon us, the Tennessee Titans are entering the 2025 season filled with confidence. After a terrible 3-14 record in 2024, the team reloaded and rebuilt, starting from the front office.
At the heart of this rebuild is rookie quarterback Cam Ward, the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, who carries the hopes of a franchise to return to the playoffs for the first time in five years.
Who Are the Tennessee Titans’ Quarterbacks?
Cam Ward
Ward is the Titans’ rookie starter and the face of their future. Standing 6’2” and weighing 219 pounds, he’s played at Incarnate Word, Washington State, and Miami, where he was a Heisman finalist and broke single-season records.
In his preseason debut, Ward showed glimpses of the calm and playmaking ability that made him the first overall pick, even leading a touchdown drive against the Buccaneers.

Ward is a dynamic player because of his flexibility, leadership, and tenacity. Still, head coach Brian Callahan is realistic about his development and points out areas that need improvement, such as timing and fast decision-making. Tennessee fans can’t wait to watch Ward develop into the quarterback the team has been looking for.
Brandon Allen
With Will Levis out injured for the season, Ward’s immediate backup is veteran Brandon Allen, who signed with the Titans in March 2025. Allen reunites with Callahan, whom he played under with the Bengals, and brings five years of NFL experience to the room. Over his career, he’s appeared in 18 games with 10 starts, filling in whenever needed.
Allen’s presence is as much about mentorship as it is about playing. He knows the system inside and out and offers Ward a steady voice when the game gets intense, ensuring the offense keeps moving even if the rookie faces a rough patch.
Trevor Siemian
The third quarterback is journeyman Trevor Siemian, who signed recently in August. At 33, he brings years of experience across multiple teams, including the Broncos, Jets, Saints, and Bears, and spent time on the Titans’ practice squad in 2024.
Siemian gives the room depth and experience. In the huddle, he can provide a soothing presence, assist Ward in learning the ropes, and step in if necessary.
With Ward looking to lead the way and Allen and Siemian offering direction and depth, the Titans’ quarterback room is positioned to make some noise. While it’s not the most daring group of quarterbacks, it’s a room that’s filled with potential and experience and can potentially surprise a few people in 2025.
Preview for Titans vs. Vikings Preseason Week 3 Game
The Titans will finish their preseason with a game against the Minnesota Vikings. This will be the last opportunity for head coach Brian Callahan to make big decisions ahead of the NFL’s roster cutdown deadline.
Tennessee has seen enough from Ward, and they are ready to roll with him in Week 1’s matchup against the Denver Broncos. However, several other players are still fighting for a roster spot.
Expectations aren’t high for Ward in his rookie season due to his supporting cast. But there is a belief around the NFL that he could turn around the Titans franchise much sooner than expected, similar to what Jayden Daniels did in his rookie season.
As for the Vikings, they also have a young quarterback in J.J. McCarthy, who will make his NFL regular-season debut in Week 1. Minnesota will face off against the Chicago Bears in their season opener, and before that, they are likely to trade for a veteran receiver.
