The NFL postseason has reached its final stretch. With the conference championship games complete, the league is down to just one remaining game. That leaves fans checking the schedule on a Thursday and asking the same question that has come up all postseason long. Is there a Thursday Night Football playoff game tonight?
Why There’s No Thursday Night Football as the NFL Prepares for Super Bowl Week
There is no Thursday Night Football playoff game tonight.
Once the regular season ends, the NFL does not schedule playoff games on Thursdays. That remains the case this week. The league enters its final week leading into Super Bowl LX, which is the only game left on the calendar.
Super Bowl LX will be played on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth will call the game, with Melissa Stark and Kaylee Hartung on sideline duties. The game will air on NBC and stream on Peacock and NFL+.
This year’s Super Bowl matchup is the New England Patriots versus the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams finished the regular season 14-3. Seattle enters as the No. 1 seed in the NFC. New England represents the AFC as the No. 2 seed.
Let’s take a look at how these teams match up according to PFSN analytics.
On offense, New England finished second overall with an 86.6 OFFi. The offense is led by MVP candidate Drake Maye, who ranked second among all quarterbacks with a 91.1 grade.
Seattle’s offense ranked ninth overall in OFFi. Quarterback Sam Darnold notched a 78.7 grade at quarterback. The Seahawks’ skill group is led by receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who finished with an A grade. He is the No. 2-rated receiver in WRi.
Defensively, Seattle ranks third overall with an 88.4 grade. New England’s defense finished 12th. Both teams have stout units. New England has only allowed 26 points this postseason. Seattle features a talented defense led by head coach Mike McDonald’s scheme. As was the case on Championship Sunday, special teams will matter, especially with New England ranking 20th and Seattle second.
The halftime show will be headlined by Bad Bunny, and Green Day will perform during the opening ceremony. Charlie Puth will sing the national anthem, with Brandi Carlile, Coco Jones, and ASL performers also featured in the pregame program.
There is no football tonight, and there will be no games this weekend. The league’s focus shifts entirely to one final matchup. Super Bowl Sunday stands alone.
