Wimbledon 2025 is around the corner and the women’s singles draw has already been released, and there are some very interesting matchups and potential matchups to look forward to. Barbora Krejčíková is the defending champion but she is bound to have a tough title defense, as she starts off against a formidable opposition.
The likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Elena Rybakina are among the title contenders, though there are others as well, who are capable of going deep at SW 19.
On that note, let us take a look at how the women’s singles draw at Wimbledon 2025 could pan out.
1st Quarter — Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys Could Have Their Second Grand Slam Meeting of 2025
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and Australian Open champion Madison Keys are the top two seeds in this quarter, and other decent players include Paula Badosa, two-time semifinalist Elina Svitolina, last year’s semifinalist Donna Vekić and 2023 champion Markéta Vondroušová.
The first quarter also has a strong British flavor, with Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter present. Boulter’s match against Paula Badosa will no doubt be one of the most interesting opening round fixtures of the tournament.
Aryna Sabalenka takes on Carson Branstine in her Wimbledon opener and while she can face either of Raducanu or Vondroušová during the first few rounds, she should be able to make it to the fourth round without much trouble.
Here, her most likely opponent could be 14th seed Elina Svitolina, who can be a formidable opponent on grass. Sabalenka has won five out of six meetings against the Ukrainian, and should be able to come out on top again to book her place in the quarterfinals.
Madison Keys has had an impressive season so far, and will have high expectations at Wimbledon. While the likes of Zhang Shuai and Olga Danilović should not be written off, the American should be able to make it to the fourth round, which was the stage where she had to retire last year after suffering an injury.
If Keys makes it to the Round of 16, she will most likely take on ninth seed Paula Badosa. While the Spaniard at her fittest is a tough opponent to beat, the Australian Open champion’s hard-hitting game and movement should see her reach the quarterfinals.
Here, she would take on Sabalenka in what would be their third meeting of 2025. The Belarusian beat in the quarterfinals in 2023 and has a fair chance of coming out on top again if she is at her best.
Quarterfinal Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka to beat Madison Keys.

2nd Quarter — Zheng Qinwen, Jasmine Paolini, Amanda Anisimova and Ons Jabeur Make for an Interesting Draw
This quarter is a very interesting one, as there are quite a few players who are capable of making it to the quarterfinals. Last year’s runner-up Jasmine Paolini and 13th seed Amanda Anisimova could lock horns in the fourth round of Wimbledon 2024. Even though the likes of Linda Noskova, Beatriz Haddad Maia and Yulia Putintseva should not be written off, it could eventually come down to Anisimova and Paolini for a place in the quarterfinals.
A fixture between the two promises to be interesting, and if Paolini is at her best, she should be able to come out on top and reach the quarterfinals.
The other side of this quarter has fifth seed Zheng Qinwen, 12th seed Diana Shnaider, 20th seed Jelena Ostapenko and Ons Jabeur. While the Tunisian has been far from her best, she is capable of beating Ostapenko, should the two meet in the second round. If Jabeur manages to triumph over Diana Shnaider and reach the fourth round, she will most likely take on Zheng Qinwen.
The Chinese has not particularly impressed on grass yet but given her quality, she is capable of making it to the Wimbledon quarterfinals. Here, she would take on Paolini, and the Italian’s record on grass should be able to see her through to her second successive semifinal at the grass-court Major.
Quarterfinal Prediction: Jasmine Paolini to beat Zheng Qinwen.
Third Quarter — Jessica Pegula Will Look to Make it Big at Wimbledon
Third seed Jessica Pegula is in this quarter, as are the likes of seventh seed Mirra Andreeva, 10th seed Emma Navarro and last year’s champion Barbora Krejčíková. The Czech has not been in the best of form lately due to her fitness issues. She will have a tough start to her title defense, as her first-round opponent is Alexandra Eala, who has produced a few impressive performances so far in 2025.
10th seed Emma Navarro and seventh seed Mirra Andreeva could lock horns in the fourth round, and this would be an interesting fixture to watch. The American has produced some decent performances on grass and recently exited the Berlin Tennis Open after putting up a tough fight against Jessica Pegula.
The third seed is among the contenders to win Wimbledon and should have an easy journey till the fourth round, as her potential opponents at this stage include Karolina Muchova and Ekaterina Alexandrova. Both players will be tough to beat on grass but Pegula’s persistent game should be able to see her just about beat either of the two and reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon 2025.
Pegula and Emma Navarro had a three-set fixture at the Berlin Tennis Open, and we could see another thrilling encounter at the grass-court Major, should they reach that far. The World No. 3 has never gotten past the quarterfinal stage at Wimbledon but this year is a good chance for her to do well, and she has a fair chance of reaching the semifinals.
Quarterfinal: Jessica Pegula to beat Emma Navarro.
4th Quarter — Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Iga Świątek All Have a Good Chance of Reaching the Wimbledon QF
This quarter has some big names in Iga Świątek, French Open champion Coco Gauff and 2022 champion Elena Rybakina. Gauff had an impressive clay season but her grass swing did not get off to the best of starts, as she lost her opening match in Berlin.
The 21-year-old is yet to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals in her career but has a good chance of going that far this year. Gauff’s potential opponents in the first few rounds include Victoria Azarenka and 28th seed Sofia Kenin, but she should be able to get the better of them and reach the fourth round.
Here, the American could take on either 16th seed Daria Kasatkina or 19th seed Liudmila Samsonova. Both players are tough to beat on grass, particularly Samsonova. However, if Gauff is able to control her aggression well, she has a fair chance of reaching the quarterfinals.
On the other side of the quarter, it will most likely come down to a fourth-round clash between Iga Świątek and Elena Rybakina. The two had a three-set encounter at the French Open, with the Kazakh squandering a good opportunity to come out on top after taking the first set.
Rybakina, on paper, is a considerably better player than Świątek on grass, and has a good chance of beating the Pole. The Kazakh is predicted to face Gauff in the Wimbledon quarterfinals and should be able to get the win considering her quality on grass.
Quarterfinal Prediction: Elena Rybakina to beat Coco Gauff

Wimbledon 2025 Semifinal and Final Predictions
One semifinal would feature Aryna Sabalenka and Jasmine Paolini, and the Belarusian’s powerful serve and hitting should be able to see her get the win and reach the final. The other final four fixture between Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula would be a fixture to look out for.
While the American has a 3-1 head-to-head lead over the Kazakh, it will not be much of a surprise if the latter comes out on top, especially if she is at her best and fittest.
A Wimbledon final between Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina is quite possible, considering the Belarusian’s current form and the 2022 champion’s grass-court prowess. The two played out a thrilling fixture at the Berlin Tennis Open, which Sabalenka won. However, if Rybakina manages to hold her nerves, then she should be able to come out on top and clinch her second Wimbledon title.
Final Prediction: Elena Rybakina to beat Aryna Sabalenka.
