Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka will lock horns in the women’s singles final of French Open 2025. Gauff reached her third Major singles title clash after a 6-1, 6-2 win over Lois Boisson, while Sabalenka reached her third successive Grand Slam final with a 7-6(1), 4-6, 6-0 win over Iga Swiatek.
The American will look to win her second Major singles title after successive runner-up finishes at the Madrid Open and the Italian Open. She will also have her team members and others in her box, cheering her on.
Coco Gauff’s Mother, Coaches, and Other Team Members to Support Her at French Open Final
Coco Gauff’s mother, Candi, has been a constant presence in her player’s box, proudly supporting her daughter, including during her China Open victory last year. She was notably seen supporting her daughter during the French Open semifinal and is expected to do the same in Saturday’s final.

After splitting with Brad Gilbert last year, Gauff expanded her coaching team by adding Matt Daly alongside Jean-Christophe Faurel, who joined in early 2024. This season, the American reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and the final in Madrid, Romme, and now, the French Open, while working with Daly and Faurel. Both coaches will be present in her box on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
In addition, Gauff’s seasoned fitness coach, Richard Woodroof, and her trainers, Maria Vargo and Stephane Dal Soglio, are also expected to be in her corner on Saturday.
Coco Gauff Aims To Play Aggressively Against Aryna Sabalenka at the 2025 French Open Final
Sabalenka has already secured three titles this season, including a clay-court victory in Madrid last month, where she defeated Gauff in the final. This could give the Belarusian a potential psychological edge heading into the match. However, Gauff is aware of Sabalenka’s aggressive style and has devised a strategy to counter it.
“Yeah, I think just trying to go for my shots and be aggressive. Obviously, she is someone who has great big shots and she is going to come out aggressive and she is going to come out swinging. And, I think I just have to expect that and do my best to counter that. But, I think the past experience that I’ve played we had some up and down matches,” she said during her post-match press conference.
Notably, this marks the first Major women’s singles final between the No.1 and No. 2 seeds since the 2018 Australian Open, when Caroline Wozniacki triumphed over Simona Halep.
