Venus Williams and Andrea Preti Spend Time by the Ocean Amid Wedding Reports

In August 2025, it was reported that Williams and Preti had been engaged for nearly a year. Preti put the engagement speculation to rest by sharing a picture on social media of himself and Williams holding hands against a stunning beach backdrop, with the former World No. 1 displaying her engagement ring.

On the tennis side of things, Williams returned to the sport after a 16-month hiatus during the North American hard-court swing. She accepted a wild card invitation to compete in the 2025 Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C., where she defeated compatriot Peyton Stearns in the first round before losing to Magdalena Fręch in the second round.

The former World No. 1 also competed in doubles alongside Hailey Baptiste, reaching the quarterfinals before being eliminated by the team of eventual champions Taylor Townsend and Zhang Shuai.

Williams next participated in the Cincinnati Open, where she lost in the first round to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. Most recently, she competed in the 2025 US Open, where she was eliminated in the first round in the singles event by Karolína Muchová. She also lost in the first round of the mixed doubles event alongside Reilly Opelka, falling to the pair of Muchová and Andrey Rublev.

In the women’s doubles event at the New York Major, Williams partnered with Leylah Fernandez. They made it to the quarterfinals but were defeated by the duo of eventual runner-ups Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend.
