Venus Williams, Jessica Pegula, Taylor Townsend, and More: Indian Wells Day 2 Schedule for March 5

The first round of the BNP Paribas Open continues on Thursday with the likes of Venus Williams, Jessica Pegula, and Taylor Townsend set to highlight the day’s action. Sofia Kenin, Sebastian Korda, and Roberto Bautista Agut will also compete at Indian Wells on Day 2.

We have already seen a few upsets at the BNP Paribas Open, with Paula Badosa, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Bianca Andreescu among the players suffering early eliminations. Let’s take a look at the schedule for Thursday.

BNP Paribas Open Thursday Schedule

Kicking things off at Stadium 1 of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden will be Grigor Dimitrov as he takes on Terence Atmane. Williams will then hope to roll back the years in her first-round match against qualifier Diane Parry.

2020 Australian Open winner Kenin will face Kateřina Siniaková in her opener, while Korda will be in action against Francisco Comesana. Talented youngster Alex Michelsen will open his BNP Paribas Open campaign against Daniel Merida at Stadium 2.

Fans can also look forward to watching doubles specialist Townsend in action on Thursday. She will face Marie Bouzková in what could be the pick of the matches on Day 2. Donna Vekić will hope to spring a surprise as she faces Tereza Valentová in the first round.

Women’s doubles first-round matches will also get underway on Thursday, with top seeds Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani the headliners. They will face Jaqueline Cristian and Clara Tauson in the first round.
