Comparing US Open 2025’s Prize Purse to That of Other Grand Slams

The total prize purse for this year’s US Open is $90 million, which is almost $30 million more than that of the Australian Open (~$62.7 million), almost $25 million more than that of the French Open (~$65.7 million), and almost $20 million more than that at Wimbledon (~$71.5 million).

The winners of the singles event at the New York Major will each win a mammoth $5 million, which is $1.4 million more compared to 2024. It is also considerably higher than what the winners were awarded at the other Grand Slams. In fact, the Australian Open singles champions were paid less than half of this amount.

The singles runner-up at the US Open will receive $2.5 million, which is more than what the Australian Open singles champions earned this year. Players who lose in the semifinals will earn $1.26 million while those who will lose in the quarterfinals, will pocket $660,000. The singles competitors who will be eliminated in the fourth round will fetch $400,000 while the ones who will lose in the third round will earn $237,000.

Players who will lose in the second round will fetch $154,000 while the ones who will be knocked out in the first round will pocket $110,000.

A Look at the Doubles Prize Money at US Open 2025

The pairs who will lose in the men’s and women’s doubles finals will earn $500,000 while those who will lose in the mixed doubles final will earn $400,000.

The losing semifinalists in the men’s and women’s doubles event will fetch $250,000 while the mixed doubles pairs losing at this stage will receive a cash prize of $200,000. The pairs who will be eliminated in the men’s and women’s doubles quarterfinals at the US Open, will earn $125,000 while those who lose at this stage in the mixed doubles event, will fetch $100,000.

The pairs who will be knocked out in the Round of 16 of the men’s and women’s doubles event will earn $75,000 while those who will lose at this stage in the mixed doubles tournament, will pocket $20,000.
