‘F**king Bulls**t’ – Tristan Boyer Attacks Umpire Chair, Hurls Expletives in Heated Challenger Meltdown

Tristan Boyer suffers a furious meltdown and attacks the umpire chair after a game penalty seals his defeat at a Challenger event.

American tennis player Tristan Boyer found himself embroiled in a shocking incident during the qualifiers of a Challenger event in Francavilla, Italy. Fresh off a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win over Angelo De Cesaris in his opening match, the world No. 257 was expected to cruise past world No. 938 Daniele Rapagnetta. Instead, Boyer lost his composure and erupted into a heated outburst after sealing his loss.

Why Tristan Boyer Had a Furious Meltdown Over the Umpire’s Ruling

Rapagnetta seized control early in the contest, clinching the opening set 6-4 and putting Boyer under pressure. The second set proved more competitive until Boyer got his serve broken at 5-5 and repeatedly slammed his racket on the court in frustration. After initially issuing a warning, the chair umpire handed the American a game penalty, which sealed Rapagnetta’s 6-4, 7-5 victory.

Boyer’s fury over the call was unmistakable as he attacked the umpire’s chair with his racket in shocking scenes. The 25-year-old continued to smash his racket on the court before launching into a furious, expletive-laden tirade directed at the umpire. He also stunned the crowd by slamming the gate on his way out of the court.

“You’re gonna give me something that never even happened? That’s unf***ing believable to me. Nothing happened. That’s just f**king bulls**t. F**king bulls**t. Watch the f**king video. Nothing f**king happened. F**k you man,” Boyer yelled.

Boyer is no stranger to on-court meltdowns, having displayed similar behavior at the San Diego Challenger last year. After suffering a 6-3, 7-6(4) loss to Alex Bolt, the American repeatedly smashed his racket before confronting the umpire over a time violation he had received at a crucial juncture earlier in the match.

“You guys are absurd! Unbelievable, it’s ridiculous. You guys can’t do one thing right. F*** off! God, this is frustrating! You’re like all over the place. Horrendous calls!” Tristan Boyer told the chair umpire. “In the worst moments, what are you doing giving me a time violation?! There are three people here! It’s the first round, it’s ridiculous. We are not on TV, there is nobody watching, nobody is watching the stream. You’re ridiculous!”

This latest episode continues the trend of Tristan Boyer’s underwhelming 2026 season, as he holds a 1-3 win-loss record in main-draw matches this season. The American achieved his best result of the year at the Cleveland Challenger, where he reached the Round of 16 before being knocked out by Borna Gojo.
