Tommy Paul’s Leg Injury Unveiled Amid a Relaxing Getaway With Girlfriend Paige Lorenze
Tommy Paul lost to Sebastian Ofner in four sets during their second-round matchup at Wimbledon. Despite starting strong by winning the first set easily (6-1), Ofner bounced back and took the next three sets in close battles (7-5, 6-4, and 7-5).
Even though Paul led in several important stats, Ofner played with confidence. The Austrian made nearly 50 unforced errors but still won more total points and took the match.
Days later, ahead of the Wimbledon final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, Paul was seen spending time with his girlfriend Paige Lorenze. However, the social media post prompted signs of concern as the 28-year-old was seen wearing a leg cast.
The short video posted by Lorenze showed Paul carefully walking up to his girlfriend with a glass of wine in his hand. Dressed casually, the American was seen handing the drink to his girlfriend while struggling with his leg.
Paul’s struggles with physical issues have been ongoing. In the second-round clash at Wimbledon, Paul paused the match for a medical timeout after what appeared to be an ankle injury he picked up while hitting a smash. He tried to continue playing afterward but eventually lost to Ofner.
His opponent also needed a medical timeout because of pain in his right wrist.
The American had picked up an abdominal injury while reaching the quarterfinals at Roland Garros. Because of this, he also skipped the ATP 500 tournament at The Queen’s Club, where he was supposed to defend his title.
Paul Admitted to Feeling Better but ‘Not Perfect’ Ahead of Wimbledon
Before stepping on the courts of Wimbledon, Paul admitted he wasn’t completely free of post-injury struggles. In a conversation with ATP.com ahead of his campaign, the 28-year-old said:
“Physically, [I feel] a lot better. Obviously, not perfect. I don’t think anyone is ever really perfect in the Slams. But it was nice to be home for a little bit and reset. I got a match in last week and I was actually kind of happy with how I played. I could’ve moved better. But overall, with Evans, I thought the quality of the match was pretty good. So, that’s all I really wanted to come into Wimbledon. I didn’t really exhaust myself the week before. Now we’re here at Wimbledon, and there is no better place in the world to be. So, I am excited to get started,” he said.

Following the recent loss, Paul is now expected to compete at the Mubadala Citi DC Open, the ATP 500 event starting July 21, where he will be joined by compatriots Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton, among others.
