The 2025 season has been a tumultuous one for Paul, marked by a series of injuries that have hindered his performance on the ATP Tour. It began with an abdominal strain during the French Open quarterfinals, which forced him to withdraw from the Queen’s Club Championships, where he had been the defending champion.
His struggles continued at Wimbledon, where a ruptured tendon in his left foot during a second-round match against Sebastian Ofner sidelined him for two weeks. Despite these setbacks, Paul managed to return to the court. Still, he faced further challenges, including a third-round loss at the US Open and subsequent withdrawals from the Davis Cup tie against the Czech Republic, the Laver Cup, and the Shanghai Masters.
