Tommy Paul Will Face Thiago Agustin Tirante In the Second Round

Paul faced off against compatriot Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round, winning the match 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. He will now face Argentina’s Thiago Agustin Tirante, who won 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 against home favorite Aleksandar Vukic.

This will be the first meeting between the two players, with Paul having a 78 percent win probability as calculated by the PFSN Simulator. Winning over 90 percent of the first-serve points, Paul did not face a single break point in his previous match. The same was for Tirante as well, who did not face any break points in his previous match, and won 85 percent of the first serve points.

Both players served well in their previous matches, so return games, especially in the first set, will be key in the upcoming match. Paul, being the top-ranked player, should be able to find a way to get into the Argentine’s serve and be dominant in the match.

Pick- Paul to win in straight sets

Alexander Bublik Will Look To Make A Deep Run in Melbourne As He Faces Marton Fucsovics In The Second Round

Being a top 10 seed for the first time, Bublik started his Australian Open campaign with a routine 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 win against Jenson Brooksby in the first round. He will now face Marton Fucsovics of Hungary, who won 7-6 (5), 6-1, 6-2 against Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the first round.

Bublik has a 4-0 head-to-head record against the Hungarian at tour-level, which is reflected in the 70 percent win probability assigned to the tenth seed by the PFSN Simulator. Despite winning 74 percent of the first-serve points, Bublik faced eight break points in his previous match, seven of which he saved.

Meanwhile, Fucsovics was broken thrice in the previous match, but the Hungarian excelled in the return games, breaking his opponent seven times in the match.

The courts in Melbourne will allow Bublik to employ his creative drop shots, and the Kazakh’s record against Fucsovics should give the tenth seed enough edge to win the match and advance to the next round.

Pick- Bublik to win in straight sets

Frances Tiafoe Will Face Francisco Comesaña In The Second Round

Frances Tiafoe began his Australian Open campaign with a 7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-2 win against the Australian qualifier, Jason Kubler, in the first round. He will now face Francisco Comesaña in the second round, who began his journey in Melbourne with a 6-2, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 against American wildcard Patrick Kypson in the first round.

These two players have not played before on the Tour, with Tiafoe having a 66 percent win probability as per the PFSN Simulator. The American hit 23 aces in his previous match, winning 79 percent of his first serve points. He was aggressive on the break points, hitting over 50 winners in three sets.

Comesaña was dominant on serve as well, winning over 80 percent of his first serve points, hitting 20 aces, and facing only two break points in his previous match.

The upcoming match might see one or two tiebreaks, but Tiafoe, with his Grand Slam experience should pull through .

Pick- Tiafoe to win in four sets
