Taylor Fritz made a comment about his campaign at the Queen’s Club Championships when his grass-court performances in 2025 were shared after his quarterfinal win over Karen Khachanov at Wimbledon. The American had a forgetful outing at the ATP 500 event after his triumph at the Stuttgart Open.
Taylor Fritz’s Hilarious Comment on His Queen’s Club Championships Exit
Fritz has had an impressive grass season so far in 2025, winning all but one of his matches. The American won two ATP 250 events in Stuttgart and Eastbourne but between this triumphs, there was a disastrous early exit at the Queen’s Club Championships. Here, he suffered a 7-6(5), 6-7(7), 5-7 defeat to Corentin Moutet.
The American recently booked his place in the Wimbledon semifinals after a 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4) win over 17th seed Karen Khachanov in the last eight. This is his second Major semifinal, having previously made it to the US Open final in 2024.
Following Fritz win over Khachanov, a post was shared on social media about his grass-court season, and the American reacted to this by jokingly stating:
“Queen’s didn’t happen.”

Fritz’s defeat at the Queen’s Club Championships came after he won the Boss Open in Stuttgart without dropping a single set and facing a single break point. The American bounced back at Eastbourne, where he successfully defended his title by beating Jenson Brooksby 7-5, 6-1 in the final.

Taylor Fritz Will Face Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon Semifinals
After overcoming Karen Khachanov in four sets, Taylor Fritz now faces a tough task in the Wimbledon semifinals, as he will take on two-time champion Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz booked his place iin the last four of the grass-court Major after a dominant 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 win over Cameron Norrie in the quarterfinals. The Spaniard previously triumphed over Fabio Fognini, Oliver Tarvet, Jan-Lennard Struff, and 14th seed Andrey Rublev.
Alcaraz and Fritz have locked horns twice previously, with the Spaniard coming out on top of each occasion. Their first encounter came in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Miami Open, with the 22-year-old winning 6-4, 6-2. The two most recently locked horns in the round robin of last year’s ATP Finals, and Alcaraz won 6-2, 7-5.
