Taylor Fritz's ex-girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, reveals the real reason why she ended their six-year relationship despite her perceived "dream life."

Taylor Fritz and his ex-girlfriend, social media influencer Morgan Riddle, made headlines when they parted ways in April 2026 after nearly six years together. The pair first met on the celebrity dating app Raya in 2020 and were one of the most high-profile couples in tennis.

Over the years, Riddle became a familiar face on tour, documenting life behind the scenes at tournaments and showing off her fashion choices for Fritz’s matches, which even earned her the label of “the most powerful woman in men’s tennis.” Riddle has now shed light on what led her to initiate their breakup.

Morgan Riddle Opens Up About Her Breakup With Taylor Fritz

As Fritz prepared for his campaign at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships, Riddle appeared on the “Hot Smart Rich” podcast, where she reflected on the emotions that prompted her to end their long-term relationship after relocating from Los Angeles to New York.

The 28-year-old revealed that, during the final 18 months of their relationship, she no longer felt like herself and struggled to reconnect with her true identity.

“It really was that thing in the back of my mind that I just knew it wasn’t my life. I almost felt like I was observing my life in a way that I wasn’t truly living in it. I felt like the world was spinning around me and I would always try to reach out and grasp and feel myself and feel at home in my own body and in my own life for the last probably year and a half,” Riddle said.

Riddle recounted a visit to a psychic, who illuminated her about living in a “golden cage,” saying, “I went to a psychic, and she said to me something that I was just like, ‘Oh my god!’ She was like, ‘A golden cage is still a cage.’ And I feel like over the last year and a half before I ended it, I would step out of the cage, and then somehow I would just always end up back in. I don’t know if that makes sense. But I didn’t feel like I was living my life.”

The social media influencer asserted that deciding to part ways with Fritz was extremely difficult, largely because of the public perception of her life.

“I think it was so hard because I have thick skin and I try to not let what people say, either positive or negative, really penetrate how I think about myself and think about my life,” she said. “But I think that so many WAGs and women in high-profile relationships really live in this prison of public perception. And that doesn’t go away when you’re out of the relationship.”

Having been constantly confronted with the notion that she was living the “perfect life” as a tennis WAG, Riddle said she felt “guilty” for being unhappy in the relationship, as her reality was in stark contrast to the perceived image.

“But for years and years and years, I’ve had so many people come at me from every angle of like, ‘You have the dream life. Everyone wants to be a tennis WAG. Everyone wants to be traveling the world. The luxury of this, like you live the most incredible life.’ And I was hearing that and I was so sad and I was so not happy, but I felt so guilty because I had so many people telling me that I was living the dream life,” Riddle said.

However, the 28-year-old emphasized that she ultimately felt it was necessary to split with Fritz, saying, “When I was leaving, I was like, is this the best it’s going to get? Because that’s what everyone was telling me for years and years and years and ultimately came to the point of like if I don’t choose to do this, I’m going to end up paying for it in a lot of ways.”
