Taylor Fritz offered fans a rare and heartwarming look into his life away from the ATP Tour, sharing a glimpse of his fatherly duties as he spent time on the sidelines watching his son, Jordan, compete in a soccer match. The World No. 6 showed a softer, more personal side as a proud dad, cheering on his young son during the weekend game.
A Closer Look at Taylor Fritz’s Journey as a Young Father
Fritz became a father remarkably early in his career, welcoming his son, Jordan, in January 2017, when he was just 19 years old. Jordan is Fritz’s only child, born from his previous marriage to former professional tennis player Raquel Pedraza. The two married in California in 2016 after being high school sweethearts, and while they divorced in December 2019, they have remained committed to co-parenting their son.

Since then, Fritz has balanced the demands of elite-level tennis with fatherhood while also building a long-term relationship with social media influencer Morgan Riddle. Fritz and Riddle began dating in 2020 and have been together for more than five years, often sharing glimpses of their travels and life on tour.
While Fritz comes from a strong tennis lineage, Jordan appears to be carving out his own sporting interests. Instead of following directly in his father’s footsteps, he has taken up soccer, a sport Fritz has enthusiastically supported from the sidelines. Over time, the American has been spotted attending multiple matches, clearly making the effort to be present whenever his schedule allows.
In his latest Instagram story, Fritz shared a short clip from the match. In a candid caption, he joked that he missed recording one of the highlights, writing that his son “just scored a sick goal but wasn’t filming it.”

How Does Fritz Describe Coaching His ‘Unimpressed’ Son Jordan in Tennis?
Speaking with GQ, Fritz said he would likely encourage any future children he has with his girlfriend, Riddle, to play tennis. He added that he has already given his son, Jordan, a few lessons and hopes to coach him one day, noting that his son is unimpressed mainly by his father’s status as the former World No. 4 player.

“I’m sure if…when…we have kids, they will probably play tennis. With my son, I’ve definitely given him lessons. I’d love to be the tennis coach. But with all the travel, with tennis, I’m just not there yet. He’s pretty unimpressed by me being number four in the world,” Fritz said.
Looking ahead, Fritz will open his 2026 season at the United Cup, where he is set to lead Team USA from Jan. 2-11 across Perth and Sydney. The Americans arrive as defending champions and the tournament’s top seed, with Fritz and Coco Gauff anchoring Group A alongside Spain and Argentina.
