Fritz’s resurgence in his head-to-head against Zverev dates back to last year’s Wimbledon, when he beat the German 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 6-3 in the fourth round. The American then beat him in the quarterfinals of the US Open and the Laver Cup before triumphing 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(3) in the semifinals of the ATP Finals.
