Carlos Alcaraz is known for his on-court aggression and passionate celebrations due to his consistently dominant performances. He rarely shows frustration as he is winning most of his matches, while destroying his opponents. However, this was not the case at the 2026 Miami Open, where he suffered a third-round exit against American Sebastian Korda.
The Spaniard’s frustration resonated with another top-ranked star, Elina Svitolina, who suffered a similar third-round exit and shared it on her Instagram story.
Elina Svitolina Shares Her Frustration Using Carlos Alcaraz’s Meme
Even though the Spaniard was defeated at the Indian Wells Open semifinal by former World No. 1 Daniil Medvedev, ending his 16-match unbeaten streak, he was one of the strongest contenders to lift the Miami Open title. However, when the 32nd seed Sebastian Korda stunned him 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 in just the third round, his frustration was evident.
During one of the changeovers, the Spaniard went towards his team and was heard shouting, “I can’t take it anymore, I want to go home, man. I can’t take it anymore,” several times.

Ukrainian Svitolina shared this meme on her Instagram story, captioning it, “Mood: same same😅.” This shows that, despite her calm composure, the World No. 8 felt the same way during her 6-3, 7-5 straight-set loss to American Hailey Baptiste.
Alcaraz and Svitolina’s Massive Upsets at the 2026 Miami Open
The World No. 1, who had just completed his Career Grand Slam at the 2026 Australian Open, had an invincible start to the season, going unbeaten in Melbourne and Doha. During this stretch, he won the longest three-set match of his career at a Grand Slam against Yannick Hanfmann, won the nearly five and a half hour semifinal against Alexander Zverev, and defeated the 24-time Grand Slam Champion Novak Djokovic in the final.
At Indian Wells, he was riding the same momentum, reaching the semifinals after winning 16 matches in a row, but Medvedev decided to put an end to the streak. When he arrived in Miami, his main objective was to lift another title, but Korda’s performance left him looking for answers.
Similarly, Svitolina enjoyed an incredible start to her 2026 season, lifting the ASB Classic title before reaching the semifinal in Melbourne. Even though she suffered a Round of 16 exit in Qatar, she bounced back to reach another final in Dubai, losing to American Jessica Pegula.

She then reached the semifinals at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, losing to the newly crowned World No. 2 Elena Rybakina. However, the Miami upset was the most shocking as she lost to the World No. 45, that too in straight sets, continuing the massive wave of upsets.
Korda will now take on another Spaniard, Martin Landaluce, with around 87% chances of reaching the quarterfinals, whereas Baptiste will face the 2017 Roland Garros Champion Jeļena Ostapenko with around 40% chances of qualifying for the quarterfinals.
