Day 6 of the United Cup will see the conclusion of the group stage and the commencement of the knockout stages. Several big stars are set to feature in Sydney and Perth, including Iga Świątek, Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz, and Stan Wawrinka.
United Cup 2026 Day 6 Schedule
The day will start with the last group fixture of the United Cup, where Poland and Netherlands will fight for a place in the quarterfinals. Hubert Hurkacz, who marked his tennis comeback by defeating Alexander Zverev, will face Tallon Griekspoor. The two have had five prior meetings, with the Pole leading the head-to-head 3-2.
Next up, will be Iga Świątek vs Suzanne Lamens in what will be their second meeting. Their previous encounter came in the second round of last year’s US Open, where the World No. 2 won 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. The mixed doubles encounter will see Świątek and Hurkacz face Demi Schuurs and Griekspoor.
The day’s second tie will see defending champions USA face Greece for a place in the semifinals in a tie featuring some exciting matchups. The first match of the tie will see Gauff square off against Maria Sakkari for the 11th time, with their head-to-head tied at 5-5.
Taylor Fritz and Stefanos Tsitsipas will contest the next match, with the American looking to level their head-to-head in which, he currently trails 2-3. The mixed doubles will see Gauff and Christian Harrison face Sakkari and Tsitsipas.
The day’s final clash is a quarterfinal between Switzerland and Argentina, the first match of which will see Belinda Bencic face Solana Sierra in the first encounter between the two. Next up, is Sebastian Baéz vs Stan Wawrinka, another fixture that hasn’t been played before.
The mixed doubles clash will be between Bencic and Wawrinka, and Maria Lourdes Carle and Guido Andreozzi.
