Stefanos Tsitsipas became a topic of discussion when he arrived in Australia ahead of the new season after a forgettable 2025. But it wasn’t because of his tennis. Instead, the former world No. 3 grabbed attention for his fashion choice as he was seen wearing a bold, oversized leopard-print Adidas tracksuit.
Stefanos Tsitsipas’ Outfit Gets Tennis Pros Talking
Irrespective of people’s opinions, Tsitsipas seemed to enjoy the attention and leaned into it by sharing a video of his airport arrival on X and captioning it, “It’s called fashion, look it up.”
The video went viral and soon became a talking point on the popular Nothing Major podcast, hosted by former American players Sam Querrey, John Isner, Steve Johnson, and Jack Sock.

John Isner brought it up and admitted that the outfit left him confused. “There was some Instagram video I saw of Tsitsipas arriving in Adelaide and the outfit he was wearing,” Isner said. “We’re like Stef on this pod…that is like… what would you call that? Like grandma chic or something? I don’t know.”
Sam Querrey followed with his own joke, comparing Tsitsipas to “George of the Jungle,” which started a sort of playful roast. Isner then asked Jack Sock for his opinion on whether the look worked or not. “For me personally, bad look,” he said. He then shared his opinion that oversized, baggy clothing is currently trendy, but not something he likes, especially on men.
“And especially when you throw, like, leopard print on there as well and do the whole thing. I think you kind of nailed it. Grandma chic is kind of a good term for it. But, for me, that’s just very try-hard. You’re trying your hardest to look trendy or whatever and I’m not a fan of it,” Sock added.
That said, Sock admitted Tsitsipas might be one of the few players who could pull it off. When Querrey said, “He looks like Tarzan. That’s why I’m saying he can kind of pull it off.” Sock agreed.
Steve Johnson then pointed out that while none of them would wear it, the outfit at least “looks comfortable.”
The segment ended with Isner joking about who would look the worst in it, and Johnson quickly replied, “100% you,” prompting laughter as Querrey joked that such bold fashion choices look more ridiculous on taller people.
Tsitsipas Aims For a Better 2026 After Injury-Hit Season
Apart from the fashion talk, Tsitsipas is heading into the 2026 season with much bigger things on his mind. After a badly affected 2025 by a lingering back injury, the 27-year-old has been focusing mainly on getting back to his best level and staying healthy.
“The last three or four tournaments of the season I could barely hold up,” he admitted. Things became worse after he lost in the second round of the US Open. He then played sparingly in the Davis Cup before stepping away for the rest of the season.
Tsitsipas started his 2026 with the United Cup. Speaking to the organizers, he emphasized the importance of his recovery period. “I did all the necessary actions and took all the necessary steps to rehabilitate and get back to what I remember myself being,” he said.
Tsitsipas revealed that after his US Open loss, he couldn’t walk for two days, which left him genuinely worried. Now, Tsitsipas will be hoping this Australian swing marks the beginning of his comeback.
