After going 16 months without winning a tour-level title, Stefanos Tsitsipas ended his drought at the Swiss Open Gstaad by triumphing over Raphaël Collignon in the final. The special win was made even more special as the Greek star received heartfelt messages from his girlfriend, Kristen Thoms, and sister, Elisavet, after his stellar performance.

Tsitsipas has endured a difficult 2026 season, dropping down to world No. 85 after his second-round loss to Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon. However, he turned his fortunes around with a gritty campaign at the ATP 250 event in Gstaad.
After surviving three consecutive three-set battles at the clay-court tournament, the Greek engaged in another closely contested clash with Collignon in the final. Tsitsipas ultimately claimed a 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3 victory to clinch his 13th tour-level title and his first since triumphing at the 2025 Dubai Tennis Championships.
Tsitsipas enjoyed the support of his girlfriend, Kristen Thoms, from the stands during the tough contest. The couple later shared an adorable moment as they posed together with the trophy. Thoms, a former American collegiate tennis player, also shared a picture of herself kissing the 27-year-old and expressed her pride in his achievement.
“I’M SO PROUD OF YOU 🥺❤️,” Thoms posted on her Instagram story.
Tsitsipas and Thoms made their relationship public earlier this year after taking a trip to Namibia together. Thoms has since become a regular presence in the former world No. 3’s player box, cheering him on at tournaments around the world.

Tsitsipas, who will rise to world No. 51 after his triumphant run in Gstaad, is set to take some time off before turning his attention to the North American hardcourt swing. Speaking to the media after his win, the 27-year-old expressed his desire to be refreshed for the US Open series, aiming to achieve strong results during the swing.
“I’m going back home. I will need one or two days off. It’s been a long week. It’s been a lot of crazy matches and I need some recovery and some rest in order to be ready for the American swing. I’m looking forward to trying to do the best possible results in the U.S. swing and in order to do that I’ll need to be fresh and prepared for a long few weeks on the road,” he said.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is scheduled to return to action at the Mubadala DC Open, which will begin on July 27. He will join the likes of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, Daniil Medvedev, and Alex de Minaur at the ATP 500 event.
