Former U.S. Men’s National Team striker and Sloane Stephens’ husband, Jozy Altidore, recently conveyed his joy online after announcing a draft pick for Buffalo Bills during the 2025 NFL Draft. Stephens later shared a laudatory reaction to this development.
The significant moment marked Altidore’s first public role representing the Bills since becoming a minority owner in December 2024.
Sloane Stephens Elated As Jozy Altidore Announces Draft Pick for Jessica Pegula’s Father Terry’s Buffalo Bills
Terry Pegula, a renowned businessman and father of current World No. 3 Jessica Pegula, purchased the Buffalo Bills in 2014 after the death of the team’s founder, Ralph Wilson. The team indeed saw a resurgence under Terry’s ownership, making multiple playoff appearances and playing the 2020 AFC summit clash against the Kansas City Chiefs.
One of the crucial developments under Terry’s ownership unfolded in December last year, when his team announced the inclusion of 10 limited partners to the ownership group. It included a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including former NBA players Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter, and former soccer player Altidore.
Months after joining the Buffalo Bills’ ownership group, Altidore received an opportunity to announce a draft pick for the Buffalo Bills during the 2025 NFL Draft. But before that he shared an emotional message and later thanked Terry Pegula and his family.
“Thank you so much for making the NFL draft so special this year, with such an amazing turnout. Today is the special day, not just for the Bills, but for everyone who knows what Buffalo stands for. Heart, grit and family. I am proud to be a part of the Bills’ ownership, and the Bills family,” he said.
The 35-year-old later shared the clip of his speech, with a few other pictures from the draft on Instagram. He captioned:
“Bills Mafia — we just got stronger. Honored to announce a pick for a city and a team that never stops fighting. Welcome to the family, to all of our rookies! Let’s get to work!! #BillsMafia #NFLDraft””
