In his caption, Alcaraz translated his feelings into a heartfelt message for his mentor. He began by admitting, “It is very difficult for me to write this post… After more than seven years together, Juanki and I have decided to put an end to our stage together as coach and player.”

He went on to thank Ferrero for “making my childhood dreams a reality. We started this journey when I was just a kid, and throughout this time, you’ve accompanied me on an incredible journey, both on and off the court. And I’ve enjoyed every single step with you immensely.”

Alcaraz emphasized that while their sporting paths are separating, they are doing so “from the top,” the place they have always aspired to reach. He closed his statement with gratitude, noting that Ferrero helped him grow “as an athlete, but above all as a person,” and wished him the best for his future endeavors.

A Historic Seven-Year Partnership Between Alcaraz and Ferrero

The collaboration between Alcaraz and Ferrero formally began in September 2018, when Alcaraz was just 15 years old. Ferrero, a former World No. 1 and French Open champion himself, saw immense potential in the young Spaniard and dedicated himself to molding Alcaraz into a champion.

Their work together quickly paid dividends, as Alcaraz shot up the rankings with unprecedented speed.
