Serena Williams recently captured an adorable moment with her younger daughter, Adira, who playfully applied makeup on her mother’s face. The American tennis legend has made such endearing activities a cherished tradition with her daughters.
Adira’s aunt, seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams, later responded to the adorable moment with a playful proposal.
Venus Williams Asks to Be Next for Makeup After Adira’s Cute Moment with Serena Williams
Williams, who married renowned tech entrepreneur and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in November 2017, welcomed her elder daughter, Olympia, in September of that year. Their younger daughter, Adira River Ohanian, was born in August 2023.
The 43-year-old, who shares a close bond with her daughters, has previously said that the desire to grow her family was a major reason behind her retirement in 2022. While Williams remains active on the business front, she continues to be a devoted mother and often shares heartwarming moments from their life online.
One of those moments surfaced recently when baby Adira adorably applied makeup to her mother’s face. Despite struggling to hold the brush, the one-year-old eagerly tried to apply foundation and later dabbed it with a sponge. While applying concealer, she mistakenly got some on her fingers before Williams taught her the right way.
“Look at my girls!!!!! THE way @adiraohanian handles that sponge though! Shes not even 2 yet! I have loved makeup my entire life. It started young for me and my girls are following my path… now if I could just get them to pick up a tennis racket…. 🤔 🎾 @olympiaohanian @wyn,” the caption read.

Serena’s elder sister, Venus, reacted to the joyful clip in the comments, playfully asking her niece if she could be next for the makeup.
“Can I be next?” She asked.

‘I Just Can’t Peel Myself Away From These Children’: Serena Williams on Her Daughters
In an interview with Time magazine earlier this year, Williams ruled out returning to action, conveying that she “can’t peel herself away from her children.” Moreover, she shared that seeing Adira made her realize that stepping away from the sport was truly worth it.
“I just can’t peel myself away from these children. Another reason I had to transition was because I wanted to have more kids. And I look at Adira, and I’m like, ‘Was it worth it?’ I literally thought about it the other day. I was like, ‘Yeah, it was definitely worth it,’” Williams concluded.
Williams began her professional career in 1994 and quickly embarked on a journey filled with historic achievements. Apart from winning 23 Major titles, she also secured 4 Olympic gold medals and is the only player, male or female, to have completed a Career Golden Slam in both singles and doubles.
