Fans Vent Out Frustration Over Sebastian Korda’s Queen’s Club Withdrawal

Korda’s entry into the clay court season gave hope of his consistent participation throughout the season. The 24-year-old competed in almost all events, including the Monte Carlo Masters, followed by Barcelona, Madrid, Rome and then finally at Roland Garros.

While the official website of the Queen’s Club championship included his name, the announcement of his withdrawal came as a big shock to the fans.

A fan, expressing disappointment over Korda’s decision to withdraw, highlighted facts that don’t look good amid his ongoing rise in the season: “Not only is Korda out from a tournament he was the runner-up in last year, he’s literally the first withdrawal from the next week of tournaments…”

Another fan predicted Korda’s exit from the upcoming grass court major following the latest update, writing: “next tweet from Entry List Updates: Wimbledon update: OUT: Korda IN: Harris.”

Besides being concerned about his position, a fan turned sarcastic about his repetitive withdrawals: “The guy hates playing tennis,” he wrote.

A comment expressed shock over Korda’s consistently maintained ranking in the top 50 despite his frequent withdrawals.

“Plays tennis 6 months on 12 and still in the top rankings lmao,” the user remarked.

With his name out of the upcoming ATP 500 event, his schedule for the grass court season is yet to be unveiled.

However, Korda isn’t the only player to pull out of the upcoming event.

Other Withdrawals From the Queen’s Club Championship

The Queen’s Club Championship player list had to go through numerous modifications as several players decided to skip the event after their tiring campaigns at the French Open. Naomi Osaka, who faced a defeat in the opening round against Paula Badosa, missed out on her wild card entry at the HSBC Championship.

American WTA star Jessica Pegula also pulled out, restructuring her scheduling for the remaining season.

“We hope to see both Naomi and Jessica back on court soon and at The Queen’s Club in 2026,” the event’s official X account shared.

As the Libema Open and the Queen’s Club Championship near, it still remains to be seen if there are any more changes to the entry list.
