Poland vs Australia Head-to-Head
This is the first time Poland and Australia are going head-to-head at the United Cup.
Poland has had an excellent United Cup campaign thus far, winning 3-0 against both Germany and the Netherlands. Against Germany, Świątek and Hurkacz won their respective singles matches against Eva Lys and Alexander Zverev. Before the duo of Katarzyna Kawa and Jan Zieliński won against the pair of Laura Siegemund and Zverev, the pair of Laura Siegemund and Zverev had lost to Kawa and Zieliński. Against the Netherlands, Świątek and Hurkacz won their matches against Suzan Lamens and Tallon Griekspoor, before Kawa and Zieliński won against the pair of Demi Schuurs and David Pel.
Australia had a tough path to the quarterfinals, starting their campaign with a 2-1 win over Norway. De Minaur lost his match against Casper Ruud. Still, Storm Hunter was the star of the show as she won against Malene Helgø in the singles and then teamed up with John-Patrick Smith to win against the pair of Viktor Durasovic and Ulrikke Eikeri. Against the Czech Republic, Maya Joint lost to Barbora Krejčíková, but de Minaur rose to the occasion for Australia, as he won against Jakub Menšík in the singles and then teamed up with Storm Hunter to win against the pair of Miriam Škoch and Dalibor Svrčina.
Poland vs Australia Prediction
In the men’s match, the advantage lies with de Minaur, who has a 2-1 head-to-head record against Hubert Hurkacz. The last time they played each other was at Indian Wells last year, with the Australian winning 6-4, 6-0.
On the women’s front, Świątek will face Maya Joint, with the Pole having a 1-0 head-to-head record against the Australian. The only time they played against each other was at the Korea Open last year, where the Polish player won with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 scoreline.

In the doubles, Australia will have the edge with the pair of Storm Hunter and John-Patrick Smith, who will take on the pair of Świątek and Hurkacz. Hunter has been in great form and is a former No.1 doubles player and a former Grand Slam mixed doubles champion.
Świątek is the undisputed favorite against Joint, and the pair of Hunter and Smith are the favorites in the doubles as they are the more set team compared to the team of Świątek and Hurkacz. With those two results split, the key match in the tie will be the men’s singles match between de Minaur and Hurkacz. The Pole has started the year well, but the Australian is a Top-10 player and has the head-to-head advantage and should get the win.
Pick- Australia to win 2-1
