Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Alex de Minaur, and several other players are seeded in the 2025 Paris Masters and will be defending points this year.
The German will be defending his title at the ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournament, having won it in 2024 by defeating Ugo Humbert in the final. He is seeded third for this year’s tournament and will be defending a significant number of points.
A Look Into the Points Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, and Other Seeded Players Will Defend at the 2025 Paris Masters
The 2025 Paris Masters is scheduled to take place from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2, 2025, at the indoor hard courts of the La Défense Arena in Paris. The top eight seeds in the tournament are Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, de Minaur, Lorenzo Musetti, and Casper Ruud. All eight seeds will begin their campaigns in the second round, having received first-round byes.
Let’s take a closer look at the points the top eight seeds will be defending this year at the 2025 Paris Masters.
1) Carlos Alcaraz
In 2024, Alcaraz was seeded second at the Paris Masters, where he defeated Nicolás Jarry in his opening match but fell to the eventual runner-up, Humbert, in the third round. This year, he is the top seed and will be defending just 100 points.
He will begin his campaign by taking on the winner of the first-round match between Cameron Norrie and Sebastián Báez.
2) Jannik Sinner
Sinner withdrew from the Paris Masters last year due to illness, so he will not be defending any points this year. He is seeded second this time and will face either Alex Michelsen or Zizou Bergs in his opening match.
3) Alexander Zverev
In 2024, Zverev defeated past Tallon Griekspoor and Arthur Fils in the second and third rounds, respectively. He triumphed over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals and secured his spot in the final by defeating Holger Rune in the semifinals. In the championship match, Zverev defeated Ugo Humbert 6-2, 6-2, claiming his seventh ATP Masters 1000 title and 23rd career ATP Tour title.
As the defending champion, Zverev is set to defend 1,000 points this year. He is seeded third and will begin his campaign against either Camilo Ugo Carabelli or qualifier Tomás Martín Etcheverry in his opening match.
4) Taylor Fritz
Fritz is seeded fourth at the 2025 Paris Masters. He will face either qualifier Aleksandar Vukic or wild card Térence Atmane in the second round. Last year, the American lost in the second round to Jack Draper, so he will defend just 50 points at this year’s ATP Masters 1000 tournament.
5) Ben Shelton
In 2024, Shelton defeated qualifier Corentin Moutet in the first round of the Paris Masters and was eliminated in the second round by lucky loser Arthur Cazaux. This year, the American is seeded fifth at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament and will be defending only 50 points. He will begin his campaign by facing either Flavio Cobolli or Tomáš Macháč in the second round.
6) Alex de Minaur
De Minaur reached the quarterfinals at the 2024 Paris Masters. He defeated Mariano Navone, Miomir Kecmanović, and Jack Draper in the first three rounds before falling to Holger Rune in the quarterfinals.
For reaching the last eight at the ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournament last year, the Australian will be defending 200 points in 2025. He will start his campaign by taking on the winner of the first-round match between Tallon Griekspoor and Gabriel Diallo.
7) Lorenzo Musetti
In the 2024 Paris Masters, Musetti was seeded 16th but lost in the first round to Jan-Lennard Struff. Therefore, he will only be defending 10 points this year. Musetti is set to face either fellow Italian Lorenzo Sonego or qualifier Sebastian Korda in the second round.
8) Casper Ruud
Ruud was seeded seventh at the ATP Masters 1000 hard-court tournament in 2024. He began his campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye and lost to Jordan Thompson in his opening match. He will be defending 10 points in 2025 and is scheduled to face either Daniel Altmaier or Marcos Giron in his first match at the tournament.
How Many Points Will Ugo Humbert and Karen Khachanov Defend at the 2025 Paris Masters?
At the 2024 Paris Masters, Rune, Zverev, Humbert, and Karen Khachanov reached the semifinals. This year, only Rune is not competing in the tournament, as he ended his season early due to an Achilles injury he sustained at the 2025 Stockholm Open.
Humbert finished as the runner-up to Zverev last year and will be defending 650 points this year. He will start his campaign by facing the 15th seed, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, in the first round. The winner of this match will advance to the second round to take on either Luciano Darderi or wildcard Arthur Cazaux.
Meanwhile, Khachanov, who lost to Humbert in the semifinals of the ATP Masters 1000 hard-court tournament last year, is defending 400 points this year. He is seeded 10th and will begin by facing qualifier Ethan Quinn in the first round. The winner of that match will then face either Denis Shapovalov or João Fonseca in the second round.
