Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, shared a sweet moment as his daughter, Olympia, joined in a cherished family tradition.

Serena Williams’ husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian had a proud dad moment over the weekend as his daughter Olympia stepped up to the griddle and made her very first crêpe. How Did Olympia Shine in Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian’s Family Tradition?

The Ohanian-Williams family built a reputation for cherishing quiet family rituals. The couple married on November 16, 2017, in a star-studded ceremony in New Orleans, just a few months after welcoming Olympia on September 1, 2017.

Six years later, in August 2023, they celebrated the arrival of their second daughter. Despite their high-profile lives, the couple is known for cherishing everyday rituals, particularly their weekend pancake and crêpe sessions, which Ohanian often documents as a way to highlight family bonding.

Ohanian and Olympia’s weekend routine of making pancakes and crêpes for breakfast has turned into a bonding activity that Ohanian frequently highlights on social media. This time, however, the spotlight was firmly on the eight-year-old, who took charge of the griddle herself. In a photo posted by Ohanian, she proudly held up her first handmade crepe while beaming beside her father.

“Jr. asked to work the crêpe griddle for the first time and she did great! Soon Papa is gonna be able to sleep in on Saturdays 😂.”

Ohanian Talked About His Weekend Pancake Ritual With Olympia

Ohanian shared his heartwarming tradition of making pancake art for his daughter Olympia, admitting that while the creations looked great, they didn’t always taste as good. He has crafted pancakes inspired by Olympia’s favorite characters while wearing his ‘Papa Pancakes’ shirt and recently introduced the ritual to their younger daughter, Adira. Ohanian joked that Olympia never noticed the difference.

“With pancakes, they taste okay. They are not the best possible tasting. Why? Part it’s the consistency. To make them in the squeeze bottle, to make the art I want them to make, they can’t be too fluffy,” Ohanian said.

“Because as they expand, they start to distort the image. So basically the pancake batter that I make doesn’t taste great. It tastes fine but Olympia doesn’t know any better. She just thinks that’s what pancakes look and taste like,” he added.

He also recounted taking Olympia to a Los Angeles spot for professionally made pancakes, where she enjoyed the taste but missed his creative designs. Once she showed interest in his pancake art, Ohanian became determined to perfect it, even buying a commercial-grade crepe maker from a French grandmother to up his weekend pancake game.
