Alexandre Müller’s Reaction to Wimbledon 2025 Draw Against Novak Djokovic

Shortly after the draw was announced, Müller took to social media to express his feelings on being drawn against Djokovic. On X, he shared the famous GIF from “The Office” where Michael Scott screams, “No god please! No! No! NO!”

Müller is currently ranked 40th and has had only one prior encounter with Novak Djokovic. This came in the opening round of the 2023 US Open, with the Serb trouncing the Frenchman 6-0, 6-2, 6-3.

Müller had a promising start to the 2025 season, winning the Hong Kong Open and reaching the final of the Rio Open. However, the Frenchman’s performances suffered a dip during the clay season, and he enters Wimbledon on a four-match losing streak that started at the Hamburg Open.

Müller most recently competed at the Mallorca Championships as the fifth seed and suffered a 6-7(5), 5-7 defeat to Roman Safiullin in the first round.

Novak Djokovic Enters Wimbledon With a 21-8 Win-Loss Record So Far in 2025

Djokovic has won 21 out of 29 matches so far in the 2025 season, with his only title coming at the Geneva Open, where he beat Hubert Hurkacz in the final. The Serb also reached the final of the Miami Open, where he defeated Rinky Hijikata, Camilo Ugo Carabelli, Lorenzo Musetti, Sebastian Korda, and Grigor Dimitrov before losing to Jakub Menšík.

Djokovic also reached two semifinals at the Australian Open and most recently, the French Open. At the clay-court Major, he beat Mackenzie McDonald, Corentin Moutet, Filip Misolic, Cameron Norrie, and Alexander Zverev to book his place in the final four. Here, he lost 4-6, 5-7, 6-7(3) to eventual runner-up Jannik Sinner.

The Serb will make his 20th appearance at Wimbledon and it will be the first time since 2018 when he is not among the top five seeds. Victory for Djokovic will see him equal Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles. He will also win a 25th Grand Slam title, an achievement that will make him the most successful Major singles champion in tennis history.

Whoever out of the Serb or Alexandre Müller wins, will take on either Dan Evans or Jay Clarke in the second round of Wimbledon.
