Novak Djokovic is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, having won 24 Major titles, 99 singles ATP titles, and an Olympic gold. Yet, despite his demanding career, the Serb remains deeply committed to spending quality time with his family, especially his children, Stefan and Tara.
The former World No. 1 recently spoke about embracing parenthood and how he feels being with his children. Novak and his wife Jelena studied in the same high school and began dating in 2005. The couple engaged nearly eight years later in 2013 and exchanged vows on July 10, 2014.
Their son, Stefan, was born in October 2014, while their daughter, Tara, was born in September 2017.
Novak Djokovic Explains How Being With His Kids Fills His Heart With Joy
The 37-year-old shares a remarkably close bond with his children, and their connection notably made waves at the Wimbledon Championships last year. His daughter, Tara, stole the spotlight after being spotted reading a book during his third-round match in London.
Djokovic also revealed that the seven-year-old inspired his memorable violin celebration at SW19. Moreover, he expressed joy at having his family courtside during the Australian Open earlier this year.

In a recent interview with Business Traveler, Djokovic expressed his desire to spend more meaningful time with his children after being away frequently due to his tennis career.
“Parenthood. I really want to be there for my children and I want to make up for the time I was absent. It’s so nice to immerse fully in activities with them and be present. It just fills my heart with joy.”
Novak Djokovic Once Revealed Why He Hasn’t Given HisChildren Cell Phones
Speaking to the Blic last year, Djokovic revealed that he hadn’t given cell phones to Stefan and Tara. While this causes disagreements at home and makes the kids feel left out at school, the Serb doesn’t believe in simply following the social norms.
“My children still don’t have a cell phone, my wife and I argue. They complain, At school everyone has one except us. It’s not easy and this is reflected on other levels as well,” he said.
“If everyone does something, the herd behaves like this, you have to follow them. Well, it doesn’t have to be like that. This is where I think we differ from others because we are stubborn and active,” he added
Djokovic hasn’t won an ATP title since starting his season in 2024, and the hunt continues this year. The Serb’s best performances this season include a runner-up finish in Miami and a semifinal finish at the Australian Open. Djokovic, who holds a 12-7 win-loss record in 2025, recently pulled out of the Italian Open and could possibly return at the French Open later this month.
