Seven-year-old Tara Djokovic has made her tennis preferences crystal clear. It’s not her father’s legendary career that captures her attention. Instead, she’s completely obsessed with one thing: getting back to Aryna Sabalenka’s house for more açaí. The young Djokovic has been spotted cheering for her father alongside her brother Stefan during the ongoing Wimbledon championships, but her true tennis allegiance lies elsewhere.
Why Does Tara Djokovic Want to Visit Aryna Sabalenka’s House Again?
Speaking with reporters after securing his spot in the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the 16th time, Novak Djokovic revealed his daughter’s surprising favorite player. The former World No. 1 told Serbian reporters in the press conference, “Sabalenka is her favorite. She only cares about Sabalenka.”
The reason behind Tara’s devotion has nothing to do with tennis prowess. “She keeps asking if she can go to her house again because she has a fridge full of açaí,” Djokovic explained.
For those unfamiliar with the purple fruit primarily found in South America, açaí is often served in smoothie bowls and has become increasingly popular among health-conscious athletes.
Djokovic continued, “We went the other day and she (Sabalenka) made some açaí for us. Since then, it’s all Tara can think about. She’s not too interested in tennis itself, it’s all about whether she can get some more of that açaí.”
The young Djokovic has already made her mark at Wimbledon in other ways. Tara went viral with a dance she performed after her father’s victory over compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic in the third round.
Celebrating with the ones who matter the most ♥️
We’ve got another Djokovic celebration to add to the list – and his daughter Tara gave Centre Court a fantastic demonstration 😁#Wimbledon pic.twitter.com/YMN0uYumF5

The açaí connection runs deeper than just Sabalenka’s hospitality. The Belarusian player is dating Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis, who founded the popular açaí brand Oakberry.
Beyond the fruit-based friendship, Djokovic maintains a close relationship with Sabalenka on the court as well. The two practiced together ahead of Wimbledon, even competing in a target challenge during their session. The goal was to hit an empty ball can placed between the baseline and service line.
Meanwhile, Sabalenka, who holds the top seed in the women’s draw at Wimbledon, also practiced with ATP No. 1 Jannik Sinner before her session with Djokovic.
How Did Novak Djokovic Reach His 16th Wimbledon Quarterfinal?
Djokovic faced a challenging path to the quarterfinals, battling through a tough Round of 16 encounter against Alex de Minaur on Centre Court. Windy conditions made the match even more difficult for both players.
The speedy de Minaur dominated the opening set, taking it 6-1 while the 25-time Grand Slam singles champion struggled to find his rhythm. Djokovic dropped serve three times in that first set, looking uncharacteristically out of sorts.
However, the former World No. 1 showed his championship experience in the second set. He fought back in the closely contested frame, delivering when the pressure was highest. The final score read 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in favor of the Serbian star.
“I am still trying to process the whole match and what happened on court,” Djokovic said in his post-match interview. “It wasn’t a great start for me, it was a great start for him. He broke my serve three times in the first set. Very windy, swirly conditions on the court. He was just managing better with the play from the back of the court.”
The seven-time Wimbledon champion acknowledged his early struggles but credited his ability to adapt. “I didn’t have many solutions, but I managed to reset myself,” Djokovic remarked.
Djokovic also praised his opponent’s unique challenge on grass courts. “He is one of the quickest players we have on the Tour, and on grass where the ball bounces so low, it is extremely difficult to play someone like him if you are not feeling the ball really well,” he said of de Minaur.
Looking ahead, the seven-time champion will face first-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist Flavio Cobolli for a spot in the semifinals.
