How Did Naomi Osaka Showcase Her Style in New York?

The 27-year-old completed her look with a sleek ponytail, a purple handbag, and black boots. She captioned her Instagram post with “I’m a mommy…Mamicita 😚?” showing her playful personality beyond the tennis court.

Meanwhile, Osaka recently finished her grass-court season with mixed results. She started at the 2025 Berlin Tennis Open, where she received a wildcard entry but lost to Liudmila Samsonova in the first round. Her next stop was the 2025 Bad Homburg Open, where she beat Olga Danilovic in the opening round before falling to Emma Navarro in round two.

Her grass-court campaign ended at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, where she showed flashes of her best tennis. Osaka defeated Talia Gibson and Katerina Siniakova in the first and second rounds, respectively, before being eliminated by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the third round.

What’s Next for Osaka’s Tennis Schedule?

Following her Wimbledon exit, Osaka is now preparing for the hard-court season, where she’s historically found her greatest success. The four-time Grand Slam champion claimed all her major titles on hard courts, with two wins at the Australian Open and two at the US Open.

Her return to hard courts will begin at the 2025 Citi DC Open, scheduled for July 21-27 at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington, D.C. This marks Osaka’s second appearance at the tournament, having last played there in 2018.

In her previous DC Open appearance, Osaka was seeded third and started strong with a straight-sets victory over Bernarda Pera in the first round, winning 6-2, 7-6(4). However, her run ended in the second round when she lost to Magda Linette 2-6, 6-3, 3-6.

Osaka expressed her enthusiasm about returning to Washington after seven years away.

“I’m really excited to be heading back to Washington to play the Mubadala Citi DC Open. It’s been seven years since I was last there, and I’ve heard great things from other players about how much the tournament has grown and evolved. I’m looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere and the DC crowd again, it should be a great week,” Osaka said via WJLA.

The WTA 500 hard court tournament features a competitive field this year, with Osaka joining players like Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, Zheng Qinwen, Emma Raducanu, and Amanda Anisimova.
