In April 2019, Osaka signed with the American sportswear giant Nike, transitioning from her previous sponsorship with Adidas. Since joining Nike, the four-time Grand Slam champion, who is known for her distinctive style both on and off the court, has collaborated with the brand to create signature outfits and footwear.
Ahead of the 2025 French Open, which is scheduled to take place from May 25 to June 8, 2025, at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, fans were speculating that the former World No. 1 would don pink, cherry blossom-inspired Nike shoes for the clay court tournament.

In light of the swirling rumors, Osaka took to social media and shared a photo of herself wearing the cherry blossom-themed Nike shoes, effectively confirming the speculation. In her caption, she noted that the design was inspired by the “sakura season,” adding that the “girlies” are going to love the shoes.

On the tennis side of things, Osaka last participated in the 2025 Italian Open, where she defeated wildcard Sara Errani with a score of 6-2, 6-3 in the first round. She then overcame lucky loser Viktorija Golubic 2-6, 7-5, 6-1, and Marie Bouzková 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the next two rounds. However, her run in the tournament concluded in the fourth round, where she lost to Peyton Stearns 4-6, 6-3, 6-7(4).

In 2016, Osaka defeated Jeļena Ostapenko 6-4, 7-5 and Mirjana Lučić-Baroni 6-3, 6-3 in the first two rounds, respectively. Her run came to an end in the third round, where she faced Simona Halep, and was eliminated with a scoreline of 6-4, 2-6, 3-6.
Two years later, in 2018, the four-time Grand Slam champion kicked off her French Open campaign with a solid win against Sofia Kenin, triumphing 6-2, 7-5 in the first round, and then defeated Zarina Diyas 6-4, 7-5 in the second round. She lost in the third round to Madison Keys, who eliminated her with a score of 1-6, 6-7(7).
In 2019, Naomi Osaka overcame Anna Karolína Schmiedlová 0-6, 7-6(4), 6-1 and registered a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over Victoria Azarenka in the first and second rounds, respectively. However, in the third round, she faced Kateřina Siniaková and lost 4-6, 2-6.
