Mirra Andreeva vs. Marie Bouzková Preview: Head-to-Head, Prediction for Adelaide International 2026

Mirra Andreeva will aim to reach a second successive quarterfinal in 2026 as she takes on Marie Bouzková in the second round in Adelaide.

Mirra Andreeva will look to put her Brisbane quarterfinal exit behind her as she starts her campaign in Adelaide against Marie Bouzková in the second round. The Russian, who is seeded third at the WTA 500 event, reached the last eight in Brisbane after comeback wins over Olivia Gadecki and Linda Nosková. Here, she lost 6-7(7), 3-6 to eventual runner-up Marta Kostyuk.

Bouzková entered the Adelaide International qualifiers after losing 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2 to 15th seed Paula Badosa in the second round of the Brisbane International. She beat Aleksandra Krunic 6-2, 6-2 but suffered a 4-6, 6-7(0) defeat to Yulia Putintseva. However, the Czech managed to qualify for the main draw as a lucky loser.

Here, she faced Badosa once again, and the result, in every way, was the complete opposite of what happened in Brisbane. Bouzková found herself a set down but she bounced back to register a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win and book her place in the second round of the Adelaide International.

Andreeva vs. Bouzková Head-to-Head

Andreeva currently has a 2-0 head-to-head lead over the Czech, with both of their prior matches taking place in 2025. The Russian won 6-3, 6-3 in the first round of the Australian Open before triumphing 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of the Madrid Open.

Andreeva vs. Bouzková Prediction

Andreeva will enter the match as the heavy favorite to win due to her better run of form and her perfect record against Bouzková. However, the Czech is capable of producing some fine tennis at her best, so it won’t be a surprise if she makes things difficult for the Russian.

Andreeva won 118 out of 173 points (68.2%) on her first serve at the Brisbane International, serving 14 aces. However, she also served 15 double faults and will hope not to fetch too many of those. Andreeva is a powerful hitter and also possesses fine movement and stamina, along with a high rally tolerance.

Bouzková’s first-serve numbers have been slightly inferior compared to those of Andreeva’s, winning 75 out of 115 points (65.2%) and serving five aces. She also produced nine double-faults and will have to be careful not to give too many points to someone of Andreeva’s quality.

While Bouzková is a formidable opponent on her day, Andreeva should manage to register another straight-set win and book her place in the quarterfinals in Brisbane.

Pick: Andreeva to win in straight sets.
