Keys vs Mboko Head-to-Head

This is the first time Key and Mboko are facing each other on the WTA Tour, which is not surprising given Mboko began to feature on the Tour regularly just last year.

Keys began her 2026 season in Brisbane, where she lost to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka, 3-6, 3-6 in the quarterfinals. She received a bye in the first round in Adelaide, following which she began her campaign with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Czech qualifier Tereza Valentová in the second round.

Mboko was in action at the United Cup, where she won her opening match against Lin Zhu but lost in her next match to Elise Mertens. She began her campaign in Adelaide with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 win over Beatriz Haddad Maia in the first round, followed by a 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (6) win over Anna Kalinskaya in the second round.

Keys vs Mboko Prediction

Keys had a shaky serve against Valentová as the American player made nine double faults in the match, which gave her opponent nine break-point opportunities, two of which she converted. However, Keys attacked Valentová’s second serve aggressively during the return games, winning 76 percent of the points, and getting the decisive advantage in the match.

Mboko is also coming on the back of a not-so-good serving performance against Kalinskaya, as she got her serve broken five times in the match. However, the Canadian youngster got her groove going in the return games, converting six of the fourteen break-point opportunities she created in the match.

Keys has reached eight hard-court finals in her career, winning five titles on the surface, including the one in Adelaide last year, and then winning her biggest career title at the Australian Open. On the other hand, Mboko has just started her WTA career, but she has already proven to be a formidable hard-court player as she won the WTA 1000 title in Canada last year and also won the Hong Kong Open.

Neither player has been serving too well, with Keys’ first serve percentages below 50 in her previous encounter. Expect the return games to be crucial, and aggression on break points will determine the winner. Key is the slight favorite as she is the defending champion.

Pick– Keys to win in three sets
