Madison Keys wrapped up her 2025 season at the WTA Finals in Riyadh before turning her attention to an important personal milestone this week. The American, who had enjoyed one of the best years of her career, reached for a simple but meaningful way to commemorate the occasion with her husband and coach, Bjorn Fratangelo.
Away from the tennis court, Keys marked a significant moment in her personal life, sharing a quiet celebration with her followers on social media.
Madison Keys Celebrates Marriage Anniversary with Husband Bjorn Fratangelo
Keys arrived in Riyadh off the back of an exceptional 2025 season that included her maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open and a victory at Adelaide to start the year. She finished the regular season with a record of 37 wins and 15 losses, cementing her status as one of the tour’s top players.
Qualifying for the WTA Finals for just the second time in her career, Keys joined an elite group of eight players competing for the year-end title. She was drawn into the Serena Williams Group alongside Iga Świątek, Elena Rybakina, and Amanda Anisimova. Her time in Riyadh proved brief, as she withdrew from the tournament due to illness ahead of her final round-robin match, bringing a strong campaign to an early close.
Just days after the tournament ended, the 30-year-old shifted focus from tennis to her home life. She shared a photo from her 2024 wedding on her Instagram story, celebrating her first marriage anniversary with husband Fratangelo.

Fratangelo reshared Keys’ story on his account and added “1 year” with blue heart emojis, giving fans a small but touching glimpse into their personal celebration.

The couple started dating in 2017, meeting through the tennis world and keeping their romance relatively private early on. After six years together, Fratangelo proposed to Keys in March 2023.
In November 2024, they married in an elegant ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina, with fellow tennis players including Jessica Pegula, Sloane Stephens, and Taylor Townsend in attendance. Keys called it the best weekend of her life, while Fratangelo expressed his excitement about spending the rest of his life with her.
Fratangelo’s ATP Career and Keys’ Remarkable 2025 Season
Fratangelo began his professional tennis journey in 2012 with modest success on the ATP circuit. In 2011, before turning professional, he won the boys’ singles title at the French Open, defeating Dominic Thiem in the final and becoming only the second American to achieve that feat after John McEnroe.
As a professional, he reached a career high ranking of World No. 99 in June 2016, earning his first Grand Slam main draw victory that year when he defeated fellow American Sam Querrey at the French Open. His playing career later took a backseat as he shifted toward coaching.
On the other hand, Keys’s 2025 season ranks among the finest of her career and marks a turning point in her professional trajectory. She began the year by winning the Adelaide International, capturing her ninth WTA singles title with a decisive victory over Jessica Pegula. Just days later, she claimed her maiden Grand Slam championship at the Australian Open after defeating World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 in a thrilling final.
Along the way to the championship, she saved a match point against five-time Grand Slam winner Iga Świątek in the semifinals, demonstrating the resilience and determination that defined her season. With her Grand Slam title and second Adelaide triumph, Keys climbed into the world’s top 10 for the first time in several years, reaching as high as World No. 5.
