Musetti vs Vacherot Head-to-Head
This will be the first meeting between the two players on the Tour, with the head-to-head being at 0-0.
Injury concerns have prohibited Musetti from being a regular feature on the Tour this year, with Monte-Carlo being the Italian’s fourth event of the year. He started his season with a runner-up finish in Hong Kong, winning over the likes of Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Coleman Wong, and Andrey Rublev, before falling short against Alexander Bublik in the final. He reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, where he retired against Novak Djokovic despite being two sets to love up. He had an opening-round exit at Indian Wells, losing out to Marton Fucsovics.
Vacherot has an 11-7 win-loss record this season, with his best result being quarterfinal runs in Adelaide and Acapulco, where he lost to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Brandon Nakashima, respectively. He had a decent fourth-round run at the Miami Open, where he lost to Arthur Fils in a competitive three-set match.
Musetti vs Vacherot Prediction
Clay is Musetti’s best surface, as the Italian has reached three clay-court finals in his career, winning the title in Napoli back in 2022. The Italian had a great clay-court season last year, reaching the final in Monte Carlo and finishing in the semifinals at Madrid, Rome, and the French Open.
Vacherot shot to prominence after his title-winning campaign in Shanghai last year. His other successes have come on the Challenger Tour, with one of his five Challenger finals coming on clay at the Abruzzo Open last year, where he lost to Francesco Maestrelli.
Given Musetti’s clay-court prowess, he is the favorite to win the upcoming match, as reflected in the PFSN Simulator, which gives him an 82% win probability. Vacherot will have home support, and it remains to be seen at what fitness level Musetti is operating at, but barring injury concerns, the Italian should get it done.
