Jessica Pegula continues to cheer for the Buffalo Sabres all the way from Madrid. The Buffalo-born tennis star’s billionaire parents, Terry and Kim Pegula, are the owners of the Bills (NFL) and the Sabres (NHL).
The Sabres are currently locked in the first round of the NHL Playoffs, where they are facing the Boston Bruins.
Jessica Pegula Reacts to Buffalo Sabres Fan’s Post
On Wednesday, Pegula reacted to a post from a Buffalo Sabres fan who had shared a photo of his friend group getting ready for Tuesday’s Game 2 against the Bruins. The fans appeared to be dressed in full Sabres hockey uniforms, including helmets and gloves.
Pegula reacted with the laughing emoji with tears of joy. She had also shared her “FOMO” after the Sabres’ dramatic Game 1 win.

The Buffalo Sabres suffered a 4-2 defeat to the Bruins in Tuesday’s Game 2 as they fell narrowly short in their comeback bid in the third period.
The Sabres fans created a lively atmosphere at the KeyBank Center for the first two games of the series. This marks the Buffalo-based team’s first appearance in the NHL Playoffs in 15 years.
The home team came from behind to claim a dramatic win in the first game of the series on Sunday. So the series is level at 1-1 going into Thursday’s Game 3 at the TD Garden in Boston.
As Pegula continues to cheer on the Sabres from Madrid, she is also getting ready to compete at the next WTA 1000 tournament. The 32-year-old will begin her Madrid Open campaign on Thursday when she takes on Taylor Townsend or Katie Boulter in the first round.

If she advances to the third round, Pegula could face Marta Kostyuk. Victoria Mboko could be a possible fourth-round opponent for the American, who could then face Coco Gauff if she makes it through to the quarterfinals. Elena Rybakina could be Pegula’s semifinal opponent in Madrid.
Pegula has enjoyed an excellent start to her season, losing just four of her 28 matches in 2026 and making the quarterfinals of every tournament she has competed in so far. She has also won titles in Dubai and Charleston.
Having made the final in Madrid in 2022, Pegula will have her sights set on another deep run at the tournament this year.
