Jannik Sinner sent his congratulations to Carlos Alcaraz after the Spaniard made history and completed his career Grand Slam at the Australian Open. Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in the final 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 to win his seventh Grand Slam title.
The historic triumph helped Alcaraz become the youngest male to complete the career Grand Slam. He also became the sixth male to reach the feat, following in the footsteps of his idol, Rafael Nadal, as well as Rod Laver, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, and Djokovic.

Alcaraz received hundreds of congratulatory messages from the tennis and sports community. The 22-year-old was also congratulated by his arch-rival, Sinner. The Italian shared a post from the ATP Tour highlighting Alcaraz’s Grand Slam triumphs and added a message for him on his Instagram story.
“Congrats, Carlos Alcaraz,” he wrote along with a clapping emoji.
Sinner would have hoped to play in the Australian Open final himself. But he narrowly fell short against Djokovic in the semifinals, losing after five hard-fought sets.
The 24-year-old was the Australian Open champion in both 2024 and 2025. He is close to completing the career Grand Slam himself, but still needs to win the French Open to join the illustrious list. Sinner lost to Alcaraz in the French Open final last year.
Comparing Alcaraz and Sinner’s Records
Alcaraz and Sinner are, without a doubt, the most dominant players in men’s tennis at the moment. They have shared each of the nine Grand Slam titles, with Djokovic the last player not named Sinner or Alcaraz to win a tennis Major (at the 2023 US Open).
With his Australian Open triumph, Alcaraz now has seven Grand Slam titles to his name. He has two titles each at the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Sinner, meanwhile, has won four Grand Slam titles. In addition to his two Australian Open titles, the Italian also won Wimbledon last year and the US Open in 2024.
In terms of ATP Masters 1000 events, Alcaraz holds the lead with eight titles compared to Sinner’s five. But Sinner has the upper hand at the moment in the ATP Tour Finals, having won it twice, compared to Alcaraz’s zero.
Still only 22 and 24, respectively, Alcaraz and Sinner are primed to dominate men’s tennis for years to come. They will hope to keep their Grand Slam streak going in June when the French Open takes place.
